WORLD EDR CHAMPS What a frikken day! One of the coolest days I’ve had on a bike for sure - the riding in Finale lived up to the hype and the gees in the SA Span was unmatched 🥹 I surprised myself and managed a 16th, and even got a top 10 on one of the stages - pretty proud of the effort! Pictures by @wejustclick__ / @lesliepboulle / @larabredenkamp The stoke was high, even on the climbs! Checking to see if my arms were still attached to my body after nearly 18mins of racing on stage 1 🫠 ‘I passed TWO people on stage 1!’ After being real worried about being completely out of my depth and holding other riders up, it felt really good to not only not be passed, but do some passing myself 😂 This bike 🥹 Did I mention the stoke was high? Roll out early in the morning from the main Piazza in Finale - a 7+ hour day on the bike lay ahead of us - the nerves were tingling! Nervous smiles at call up! Some of the prep from the day before - I had 7 @cadencenutrition gels, 3 drink sachets plus a whooole bunch of food from the water tables - all in all - over 6000 calories burnt during the race 👀 Consuming some of the fuel in question 😂 Lekker span! Just missing @justin.deyzel and @troy_cole_24 Having @simondtling and @rosiedutling there to support was so special! They raced around the mountains on their gravel bikes to make it to 5 of the 6 stages - I don’t know who worked harder - me or them 😂 Post race team dip 🫱🏽‍🫲🏼 Core memory type stuff 🥹🫶🏼 Racing the iconic DH Men as our final stage of the day with some craaaazy crowds was some goosebump stuff! 🇿🇦 I was full passenger at this point - final stage, 7 hours in - but so frikken cool! Same stage 3 slow-mo by @simondtling Stage 3 sprint and support captured by @bof_mtb and @justin.deyzel 🫱🏽‍🫲🏼

Dual Slalom Mash-up! 🗣 we knew it was fun, but I never expected a little flat-turn track to deliver such intense and close racing! First Mates Race in Dual Slalom format was one for the books. 🙌 Big love to everyone that drove the distance, skipped church, and came to race grass turns on a Sunday morning, we'll see you legends soon!🫶 (Don't think I've seen that many crashes in a morning since Helderberg 2015, iykyk)
