With increased anticipation, I’m introducing you to the newest member of the Kilchoman Core Range today. Straight from the packet onto the wet forest floor.

It was matured in re-charred red wine, oloroso and bourbon barrels, then diluted with a few drops of Kilchoman spring water and bottled at 57.0% ABV.
•
Nose: As expected, I smell a sweet, intense Islay peat smoke. This mixes with caramel popcorn and tobacco leaves, toasted miner’s bread with butter spread, wet hay in the sun, apple harvest and peach peel. 💨🍿🍂🥖🧈🍎🌸🍑
•
Taste: Sweet red fruits peppered with a hint of hazelnut, then maritime with a good portion of peat, salty caramel, spicy, peppery, smoked crab glazed with honey and lemon splashes, a subtle wineiness and sherry sweetness. 🍇🌰🧂🍮🍯💨🦐🍋🍫🍷

If you ask me, a very honest tipple. It is just as strong as Kilchoman’s Bull Rory. 🐮🥃

Which of you appreciates a good bourbon cask and what are your nuggets💎😁?

Even though a dark barrel is very tempting and usually makes me weak, I am always thrilled by a great ex-bourbon barrel bottling. And I found one just like that again, at the independent bottler @hogshead.imports from the Netherlands.😎👌🏻

This 32-year-old single grain from 1991 comes from the North British Distillery.🏭
The Whisky matured in a 1st fill bourbon barrel and was 45.4% vol. Bottled at natural cask strength for a total of 162 bottles. Perfect if you want to take things a little easier.😉
•
In the nose: it starts with a warm, sweet smell of spring flowers and marzipan, toffee, candied apples, ripe apricots and juicy pears with vanilla and coconut flakes.🌼🌸🎁🍐🍏🍮🍑🥥
•On the palate: nice, oily texture, beeswax and butterscotch with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla pudding meets wood spices that, together with Vanilla and subtle chocolate comes out with coconut shavings, extend into the finish. 🪔🥥🪵🧈🍿🍮🐝

🗓️ Aujourd'hui mercredi 31 janvier c'est la fin du dry january d'accord... Vous avez été nombreux à me soumettre cette réalité à la question story que j'ai posée hier soir.

🗓️ Cependant c'est aussi - et surtout - Le 🎉 BRANDY ALEXANDER DAY 🎉. Une fête initiée au départ aux US pour célébrer ce cocktail réalisé la plupart du temps avec du... Cognac. Et oui ce spiritueux bien de chez nous à davantage d'exposition chez nos amis américains c'est une réalité 🤐.

🥃 Je te propose donc cet instant culture et de réaliser toi même ce cocktail extrêmement simple et extrêmement gourmand ⤵️

Préparer au shaker avec des glaçons:
👉 1/3 Cognac (ici @cognacaudry).
👉 1/3 Crème fraîche liquide.
👉 1/3 Liqueur de cacao.
🍸 Noix de muscade râpée et c'est prêt !

🥃 Audry Cognac

💥 Coup de coeur

Aujourd'hui je vous fait part d'une récente découverte, celle de la Maison Audry.

Pourtant très ancienne, elle n'est apparu sur les réseaux que récemment sur cette année 2023 il me semble bien donc si tu ne connais pas du tout c'est (presque) normal.

"Le meilleur Cognac dont vous n'avez jamais entendu parler" Time Magazine.

Pour me faire mon idée je les ai dégusté pour la première fois au Whisky Live Paris du mois d'octobre dernier. Il s'agit clairement de l'un de mes coups de coeur Cognac de cette année et je comprends entièrement les mots du Time à son sujet.

Une large gamme que j'ai donc décidé de vous mettre un peu en avant et pour commencer mon "best one" de la gamme et qui conviendra parfaitement aux amateurs de Cognac de qualité: MÉMORIAL.
