What a busy Friday morning visiting the @goldencow.dairy to refill our milk and to the library to change our books

Taking childminding children out into the community offers rich real-life learning experiences that support all areas of development in the EYFS. Everyday outings help children build confidence, curiosity, communication skills, and a sense of belonging in the world around them.

🎗️Day 5 of Hoarding Awareness Week 2026

Break the Stigma

It’s so important to understand that unlike other mental health issues it is often defined by what people have in their homes, instead of what people have in their heads.

Remember:
*Be Kind
*Be Curious
*Be non-judgemental
*To work with the person
*To attempt to understand

👶🏼Little Story Seekers 👶🏼
11am-12pm on 27th May
This event takes place at: Helston Library
FREE

Little Story Seekers is a story, song, movement and craft session for very young children and their grown-ups, created by The Writers' Block.

Join storyteller Jo Lumber for a special Little Story Seekers session as part of the What[areyour]3Words project. Jo's sessions are designed for ages 0–5: expect songs, picture book stories, gentle movement and a simple make-and-take craft — all at toddler pace, with plenty of room for wrigglers, crawlers and lap-sitters.

Little Story Seekers has been running across Cornwall for several years, giving very young children their first taste of stories and creative play in a relaxed, no-pressure setting. There's no need to sit still, no wrong way to join in, and younger siblings are very welcome.

A lovely way to spend time together — and a great first outing if you're looking for something to do with your little one during half term.

This event is part of Story Lab, a week-long celebration of words and stories taking over Helston this May half term (23–30 May).

What a brilliant morning at the library! 📚✨

Our little explorers enjoyed a lovely walk together, which was great for their Physical Development and understanding of the world around them. 🌍

Once there, we dived into some wonderful stories, supporting their Communication and Language skills, followed by lots of busy play with the library toys to spark their Personal, Social and Emotional Development. 🤝

We finished off with some beautiful colouring, a perfect way to develop fine motor skills and Expressive Arts and Design. 🎨

It’s been a fantastic morning of learning through play!
