Would you like a short photo tour of the studio during the production of the skinless people scenes for @iloveboostersmovie ? Lots of sausage getting made in this one. #stopmotion #iloveboosters #puppets #practicaleffects

Here’s a peek behind the scenes into the shot where the Forge Democracy Think Tank reveals who they really are in @iloveboostersmovie . In this age of AI sloppy bullshit, I like to refer to these timelapses as the “proof.” This was made with Regular Intelligence (RI), animated by @henricrawford.

Deleted/unused, fully animated, stop motion shots from @iloveboostersmovie. Sometimes shots don’t make it in the movie, here’s a peek at a few that we picked up off the cutting room floor.

Have you seen our animation in @bootsriley ‘s movie, I Love Boosters? We collaborated with @blindbeaglevfx on the chase sequence to create the animated elements that were then comped into their gorgeous miniature photography. @scotteriksorensen meticulously recreated and programmed the lights, and @darbid_lauer animated the acrobatics.
If you haven’t seen it yet, @neonrated has released Boosters for VOD and the film is on a rolling international release very soon!

full moon in Capricorn thoughts: what if you're not depressed you just need to talk about art and be around pretty stuff in a higher altitude? Also oops now there's footage of me talking about AI and Hitler killing artists and the force that's always trying to control and disenfranchise the magic when I should have just shut up and looked cute. I'll try again next time. Thanks for having me @ncfilmfest

What an amazing weekend in Nevada City, California! Jesse and Jeff and Maya and the whole festival team through an event filled with wonderful films, engaged audiences, and reinvigorating panels and discussions and parties.

Thank you for including me - and thank you for giving me the excuse to bring together three great friends for an amazing animation discussion/panel followed by an equally wonderful metaphysical dinner with them. Ri, Noel and Michaela I need more of yall in my life.

Had to split this post into two halves because there was just too much goodness at the festival.

Come say hello to me if you are in Nevada City this week/end for the @ncfilmfest ! Or tomorrow in Sacramento…

I’m hosting an incredible panel with friends and animators @henricrawford @michaela_olsen and @noelwells ! And it’s free :)

“Boundary-pushing filmmakers and animators Noel Wells (Master of None, Mr. Roosevelt), Ri Crawford (I’m a Virgo, Mad God, Sorry To Bother You), and Emmy-winning creative director Michaela Olsen (Under Covers, Octopus), led by animator, filmmaker, educator, and longtime NCFF friend Geoff Marslett will take part in conversation with fellow animators on what the art form reveals about flexibility, agility, and creative resilience. Animation demands that you solve problems that don’t exist yet, invent worlds from scratch, and find movement in stillness - skills that translate far beyond the screen. This cohort digs into what animators know that other creatives are still learning: how to hold a vision loosely, pivot without losing the thread, and find the unexpected solution hiding inside the impossible constraint.

Nevada City Film Festival HQ
110 Union Street, Floor 1, Nevada City
June 27, 2026, 3:00 - 5:00 PM PDT”

Thanks @jesselocks for having me :)

📣 TONIGHT! Anya Abby Kent Travis & I play a set mostly new songs at fundraiser for @unitedfordignity Alliance at @ivyroom 💗🍉@handmademomentsmusic (NOLA), @ezralipp ‘s band @magicintheother , @avivalefey … all of whom I adore & admire! Plus a whole cast of cameos incl… Vicki Randle, Rafa Sarria Bustamente, @tariknfriendz (w/ @akierbel ) & even Sean Hayes (@rattlesnakecharm)🤓

A new song we are debuting is one that helped my heart not disintegrate entirely through watching the latest season of cruel treatment of Palestine by Israel & the US as it’s unfolded, the horror piped directly into our palms. The song sprouted in spring of 2024, when something shifted in me around how our species inherits systemic pain; how easily that pain can turn toxic, be manipulated, be weaponized… alongside a feckin intense personal microcosm of that sort of twisted alchemy in some family members w/ unsupported mental illness. Music held the complexity where linear wordstrings failed me.

“Can you feel the invisible thread between the hole in ev’ry soul & the whole big mess?”

Music may not directly solve 💩, but its ancient technology is powerful; superpositional. It expands our capacity for complexity; it shores us up so we can continue to walk these paths together as Humans-Who-Alive-Now … each of us a unique dataset in a continuum in old river Time. It helps to free up the buildup my sensitive emotional machinery. It can hold all spectrums of fear, sadness, anger, joy

Shout-out to Abby Noyes for the time you put in this week to unlock harmony puzzles with me, incl “Calendula Seeds.” 🍇💗

Also in this post, a few captures of a beauty-full week full o music n community:

—@arielwangmusic 🎻🤘 @freekeychoir (go see it today at 4pm!)
—joyful times at Great American Music Hall playing in @innerearbrigade Wednesday night…
—Fun rehearsals in between!

🥹 My spirits are high & my body is very hobbled up. After selkie next weekend I’ll be taking some needed time off to address some chronic health issues that I haven’t had the time, money or courage to receive support around. It’s a path that I can’t walk alone & it’s taken time to work through my fears around asking 4 help.
