Words cannot express how proud I am of @henry.bellet This kid has always gotten the short end of the stick, and for years I’ve tried my best to mentor him, keep him encouraged, show him tough love, and teach him how to overcome adversity. “Coach! What am I doing wrong? I work hard, no one is noticing?!” Me: “Henry! I know you work hard. But so does everyone else. It’s your mentality that needs to change. No one’s gonna give you anything. You’re the only player who thinks you’ve been shorted due to your size and it shows when you play. Once you shift your focus to being the best player YOU can be, things will change. Stop worrying about mistakes, missing shots, pouting, and complaining about what you CANT do, and start focusing on things you can control and how to make an impact on the Court on BOTH ends!” Took you long enough kid.
