Art meets nature at Kew Gardens with their ‘Henry Moore: Monumental Nature’ exhibition. Thirty outdoor bronze sculptures are scattered across the beautiful grounds, it made for a great afternoon out – and did you know that on Tuesday’s the entrance fee is reduced from £25 adult to £10 during the winter, it’s an absolute bargain! The exhibition is on until 31st January, perfect for a crisp autumn / winters day.

Picked a beautiful October 🍁 day to go see @henrymoorestudios in Perry Green 💚
With always my beautiful partner in crime ❤️
Henry Moore was a sculptor
1898 – 31 August 1986 he was an English visual artist. Best known for his semi-abstract monumental bronze sculptures which are located around the world as public works of art. Moore also produced many drawings, including a series depicting Londoners sheltering from the Blitz during the Second World War, along with other graphic works on paper.
He was always such a massive influence in my college days in the 90s when I was carving in oak, casting or drawing.
To touch, feel and walk around these pieces of art, alongside the workshops and studios was always going to be special. 🌳
@jaclynisradical I tried my hardest to not use emojis 😂☀️🤟🏼🫣 it didn’t work ❤️ #henrymoore #henrymooresculpture #henrymooresculpturepark #narionaltrust

One of Henry Moore’s shelter drawings and one of the tapestries woven at West Dean from this body of work - the weavers recorded the top margin! @westdeanfineart @henrymoorestudios amazing

I welcomed another chance to interact with 30 monumental sculptures which span Henry Moore’s nearly 70-year career, currently installed throughout Kew Gardens @kewgardens . A highlight was attending ‘Curating Moore’, part of Kew’s ‘An evening of Moore’ series, a brilliant discussion between Lisa Le Feuvre @lefeuvrelisa (writer, researcher and former Head of Sculpture Studies at the Henry Moore Institute), who was in conversation with Jo Baring @jobaringart (art historian, curator and writer) and Laura Bruni @laurabruni2 (Curator at the Henry Moore Foundation). Laura is curator of the Henry Moore: Monumental Nature exhibition in the Shirley Sherwood Gallery; the indoor exhibition shows more than 90 of Moore’s smaller-scale works, including sculpture, drawings, models and sketchbooks – some of which are rarely accessible to the public. The discussion explored the delights and challenges of curating a Henry Moore exhibition, from creative decisions to practical considerations in bringing Moore’s remarkable work to contemporary audiences.

I really enjoyed revisiting the whole Monumental Nature exhibition at a much quieter time of year than before, it was also refreshingly cooler. The outdoor exhibits look completely different and totally enchanting among the Autumnal vegetation and taking on the hues of the evening light.
