This month is all about facing your fears. I had feared that, if I tried to peel off Boober’s hat, it would snap and break, and the hat wouldn’t look right once I tried putting it back on. Well, with some careful maneuvering with a flathead screwdriver, I was able to pop it off, and the peg on the hat goes smoothly back into his head.

“Hey lady, this seat taken?!” @thekennydurkin has created a phenomenal Doglion figure for Muppet fans who love adding previously-unmade characters to their toy collection! Did you know Doglion has the honor of being the first Muppet to be seen on the big screen? 🎥 To my Kansas City friends, The Muppet Movie is playing at the @armourtheater on Sunday September 6th and Tuesday September 8th!

Head, Part 2: After I had sewn the two fabric halves together, I started cutting out PVC and felt for the mouth plate, as well as the throat and tongue. I had sketched these out on paper beforehand so I could use them as templates. After that, I kept adding with pins hair/feathers and eyes here and there to see how the head looked. However, I made a total of three mistakes, which I’ll go over in detail tomorrow. Maybe this will help you avoid making the same mistakes.

A few months ago, I was lucky enough to see the Jim Henson exhibition at the @movingimagenyc . It featured almost everything from The Muppets and Jim Henson’s shows and films. Behind the display cases, there were many puppets, props, costumes, and much more from Henson’s Creature Shop. My favorites were Gobo Fraggle and his Uncle Traveling Matt, which I was able to see up close… #fragglerock #muppets #jimhenson #puppetmaster #puppetbuilding

It’s Cinco de Mayo! 🎉

I have an idea for when they do another special episode of The Muppet Show. Much like when Rizzo did “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd, I’d love to see Marvin Suggs and the Muppaphones do Boney M.’s “Rasputin.” You’d have to change a few lyrics to make it about Spain instead of Russia, but that’s something the Muppets have done before— they did it with the “Islands In The Stream” song with Sabrina Carpenter. Here’s how they could possibly make it happen…

Marvin:
🎵 There lived a certain man in Madrid long ago🎵

Muppaphones:
🎵 HE - WAS - BIG - AND -STRONG - AND- HIS - EYES - A - FLA - MING - GLOW!🎵

Marvin:
🎵 Most people look at him with terror and with fear🎵

Muppaphones:
🎵 BUT - TO - MA - DRID - CHICKS - HE - WAS - SUCH - A - LOVE - LY - DEAR!🎵

🎵RA - RA - RASPUTIN - LOV - ER - OF - THE - SPAN - ISH - QUEEN!🎵

You get the idea. And you can even do something about how Suggs always meets his demise at the end with the lyrics about how Rasputin eventually was dealt with by men of higher standing, but anyways, there’s something there. Eating and explosions are always on the table in ending a great Muppet song or sketch!
