Oh guys, my first @spiel_messe in Essen. It flew by! And I had a blast… bought way too much, even played some games (never thought I could and would do that)

Had the best buddies, met a lot of friends…. Until next year! Looking forward!

🎨 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱.

And Sagrada Artisans by @floodgategames is definitely one of them.

We’ve been playing, painting, planning, making choices… and trying very hard to show you 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 without spoiling what makes this game so much fun. 👀

What we 𝘤𝘢𝘯 show you is the production — and wow. 😍

The 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗳𝗳 you get in this game were genuinely surprising. There’s so much care in the components and the way everything comes together, and discovering it as you play is a really lovely part of the experience.

And then there’s the game itself. There’s strategy, creativity, decisions that matter, and plenty of moments where you suddenly realise that your carefully made plans might need a little… adjusting. 😂

But honestly, the less you know going in, the better.

So here’s a little glimpse of our experience — 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲. 🎨✨

Would you want to discover this one without knowing what’s coming? 👀

🎰 FIVE FROM THE SHELF 🎲

This week’s FiveFromTheShelf challenge by @therainbowdice is all about CASINO vibes! ♠️♥️♣️♦️

The idea for this theme came from @her__turn ✨

So I searched my shelves for games that bring a little bit of luck, risk-taking, betting and that “just one more try…” feeling to the table. 😏🎲

🃏 Flip 7 — @999games
Push your luck and keep flipping cards… but don't hit a number you've already got! Do you play it safe and bank your points, or risk everything for that perfect Flip 7? Simple, fast and dangerously addictive.

🏴‍☠️ Skull King — @grandpabecksgames
A trick-taking game where predicting your tricks is just as important as winning them. Pirates, mermaids and the Skull King himself can completely mess up your plans. A little strategy, a little luck and plenty of chaos!

🍍 Piña Coladice — @whitegoblingames
Roll the dice, create combinations and claim your cocktails! 🍹 But getting the right combination before someone else does isn't always as easy as it looks. Colourful, quick and perfect when you want something light and fun.

🎰 Las Vegas Royale — alea
Off to Vegas! Place your dice in the different casinos and battle for the biggest payouts. But beware… having the most dice doesn't always mean you'll walk away with the money. 💰

🐎 Hot Streak — @cmykgames
Place your bets and cheer on the racers! Hot Streak is all about trying to predict who will perform — and hoping your bets pay off. Chaotic, exciting and exactly the kind of game that can have the whole table shouting. 😂

Five games. Five bets. One casino-themed shelf. 🎰✨

Which one would you put your money on? 👀🎲

FIVE FROM THE SHELF: Casino & Fall Festival 🍂🎰
This week we have a very special double feature! We teamed up two fun themes into one single reel: ‘Casino’, chosen by @her_turn, and the very first #therainbowdicefallfestival hosted by @therainbowdice with the theme ‘Fall’. We decided to use casino-themed games and push your luck-mechanisms to evoke that nostalgic, melancholy autumn feeling, where every risky move mirrors the symbolic falling of the autumn leaves. Here are five games that capture that risky, seasonal magic:

1️⃣ Agent Avenue 🕵️‍♂️
A sharp, tactical two-player game driven by a clever “I cut, you choose” mechanism. The suspense of offering cards to your opponent feels like placing a high stakes bet, perfectly capturing that tense, cautious mood as autumn sets in.

2️⃣ Flip 7 🃏
The ultimate push your luck card game! You keep pushing your luck to draw more cards without flipping a duplicate, constantly balancing risk versus reward. It embodies that exact gamble of holding out for one more turn before the leaves and your luck finally fall.

3️⃣ Dreadful Circus 🎪
A dark, atmospheric bidding game where eccentric circus attractions and hidden offers create an uneasy, high stakes atmosphere. The eerie visual style and secretive wagers fit the fading light of crisp autumn evenings brilliantly.

4️⃣ De Kwakzalvers van Kakelenburg 🧪
Bag building push your luck at its absolute finest! Every time you reach into your potion bag, you are placing a classic gamble. Drawing ingredient after ingredient without exploding your cauldron is pure suspense from start to finish.

5️⃣ Hot Streak 🎲
A fast-paced, high energy race where you bet on dynamic outcomes and ride the momentum of winning streaks. It brings the pure excitement of the casino floor straight to the tabletop with quick decisions and satisfying turnarounds.

💬 Do you enjoy push your luck games where you risk it all, or do you prefer to play it safe? Let us know in the comments below! 👇

Torchlit by @allplayhq is a trick-taking game about adventurers making their way through a dungeon, and while the game can be played with more players, the 2-player version comes with its own twist: the Vanguard.

And I think that twist works really well.
Instead of trying to recreate the multiplayer game with two people, you share control over a third adventurer – the Vanguard. This means that both players still get to make decisions about how the Vanguard is used.
That added another layer of strategy that I really enjoyed. You’re not only thinking about where your own adventurer might end up, but also about how you can use the Vanguard to influence the game – while knowing that your opponent is trying to do exactly the same thing.

For me, that made the 2-player version feel much more intentional than a lot of 2-player adaptations of games designed for higher player counts.
Torchlit is easy to get into, but the Vanguard gives the 2-player game some interesting decisions to play around with.

This one is definitely coming back to the table. 🔥 If you want to know more about how the game plays at a higher player count, check out @her__turn post today.

Have you played Torchlit yet? And if you have: at what player count?

It's been a while since my last #fridayfeels🎲 post, a hashtag created by @shelf_no_shame

I am slowly easing back into posting regularly and I am very excited about playing a few of my shelf of opportunity together with @her__turn and some solo games this weekend.

What's on the List?
If you have seen muss last post from yesterday, then you know that my latest Kickstarter delivery from @flatoutgames arrived. And of course I want to play them all 😍

Another game I really would like to learn is Tiny Epic Vikings by @gamelyngames This will very likely a solo adventure for me.

I recently won a giveaway hosted by the lovely @zeitzumspielen_der_blog, a nice package from @huch_games and I want to try Hands Off this weekend.

Are there any games in your collection haven't played and want to get to the table this weekend?
