Yes, he has an iPad, but he also gets to play like this. 🤎

Back to basics. Outdoors, no screens, using his imagination, figuring things out, solving problems and creating his own fun.

He gets to be a kid, get dirty, explore and entertain himself without needing someone or something to tell him what to do.

We don’t have to get rid of screens completely to give our kids a childhood full of these moments. Sometimes, all they need is a bit of space, a little freedom and the opportunity to just PLAY.

If you’re passing through Lancelin with kids, save this one.

WHAT?! Australia’s biggest jumping pillow!

We only planned to stop in Lancelin for the famous sand dunes, but our two-night stay quickly became an unexpected favourite.

With Australia’s biggest jumping pillow, a heated pool, new travel friends, sunset happy hour and dinner at the pub, we packed a lot into our visit.

Here’s what our day in Lancelin looked like.

Even looking at it, my eyes fill with tears.

There’s something so special about kids who have grown up travelling. They seem to have these huge little hearts and will welcome just about any child who comes within a few metres of them.

We’re currently staying at a caravan park in the big city of Perth and, honestly, I’ve noticed such a difference.

I’ve watched Blayze walk up to kids multiple times, smile and say, “Hello, do you want to play?”

And the responses have been “no response at all” or simply “hello” before they turn and walk away.

And my heart broke for him.

Now, I’m not saying city kids aren’t friendly or welcoming. They absolutely are. But I do think kids who have spent a lot of time on the road experience something different.

They’re constantly meeting new kids, saying goodbye, making friends for a day, playing with complete strangers and then doing it all over again at the next stop.

Blayze was exactly the same when we first started travelling.

He was shy. He didn’t just walk up to random kids and ask them to play.

But somewhere along this journey, that changed.

Now he’ll walk up to just about any child, introduce himself, ask them to play and somehow within minutes they’re off running around together like they’ve known each other forever.

And watching that little boy grow into someone who isn’t afraid to say hello to the world… well, that gets me. 🥹

📍Cliff Head - WA
We only met @herecomethegrays 4 days earlier but we hit it off instantly so we all headed to this amazing beach camp at Cliff Head for a few days and had the best time just relaxing.
We spent hours by the beach just chatting and watching the kids play, saw some incredible sunsets, twined in matching pants, the girls loved bead making, saw dugongs splashing around while eating seaweed right in front of us, the kids had their first surf lesson and a movie outside with 1million bugs.
Cliff Head was stunning!

My heart absolutely melted watching this unfold — the pure excitement and joy these two little humans had seeing each other again was everything.

We met this family just a few months into our trip, never knowing that a chance meeting would turn into a friendship and memories we’ll carry with us for years to come.

Some people you meet along the road are only there for a moment… and some leave a little piece of themselves in your heart forever.

So grateful for this crazy life on the road and the beautiful people it’s brought into ours. 🧡

This one wasn’t even on our list of places to visit… but a sneaky little search brought it to our attention.

And we’re SO glad we decided to take the detour and check out this underrated paradise!

The tides were perfect, the weather was on point, and we had our travel village with us — what more could you ask for?

Safe to say, no caravans were drowned by the high tide 😂 and we left with our beach vibes bucket well and truly full!

DARWIN - life lately 🥰 bombing in the pool, waterslides, Fred always being cute, trying to exercise, pip waking up a zombie, and screaming at the sunset/seagulls/harley 😂, sunsets 🌅. Travelling hasn’t changed how difficult it can be to parent but it’s definitely nicer doing it in beautiful places.

Big memories made and big $$ spent at Dundee 😂 What this doesn’t show is the slow mornings spent with friends, sharing our big dreams and encouraging each other on our journeys. Also doesn’t show the midgies absolutely smashing us 🤪 was a great stay at @basecampatdundee , the tank pool@was a hit
