Today is a day that will forever be part of Frederick’s history. ❤️

After years of dreaming, planning, fundraising, and countless hours of hard work, the AARCH Society African American Heritage Center officially opened its doors today!

This is more than the opening of a building. It’s a place where stories will be told, history will be preserved, voices will be heard, and generations will come together to learn about the incredible contributions of African Americans to Frederick County.

To everyone who believed in this vision, supported our mission, volunteered their time, and helped bring this dream to life, thank you.

Today we celebrate how far we’ve come, honor those who paved the way, and look forward to all that lies ahead.

Our doors are open. Our stories live on. And this is just the beginning. Stay tuned for the photos of this amazing ceremony.

Recently, I was looking for a town to add to road trip and @visitfrederickmd delivered! #partner

Frederick, Maryland had so much for me to do, I spent 3 days there eating great food, experiencing the brewery and distillery scene, and checking out the local museums and events. It’s just a little over 3 hours from Pittsburgh and makes for a great nearby trip.

Here’s a quick list of everything I did in Frederick, Maryland:
• Eat great food at Wye Oak Tavern, Gravel & Grind, Isabella’s Taverna and Tapas, Hootch & Banter, Beans & Bagels, Backslash Burger
• Sample the beverages at local breweries and distilleries like Tenth Ward Distilling Company, McClintock Distilling, RAK Brewing, Attaboy Beer, Olde Mother Brewing
• Visit local landmarks and attractions like Gambrill State Park, The Museum of Frederick County History at Heritage Frederick, National Museum of Civil War Medicine
• Attend a local event like the Great Frederick Fair and eat more food

Nights like this are why I do what I do. 🤍

Behind every stunning magazine spread is a moment just like this one — golden hour, incredible women, unscripted laughter, silly dances, and stories that stop you mid-sentence because you just have to listen.

Tonight we shot with some of the most extraordinary women for the next issue of @sassmagazinefrederick and I am still buzzing. ✨

There is something that happens on a magazine shoot that I can’t fully put into words. The walls come down. The real conversations start. Women who showed up as strangers leave feeling like sisters. And somewhere in between the jokes and the golden light and the chaos — we make something beautiful.

This is more than photography to me. It’s bearing witness to women owning their stories, their power, and their light — and being trusted to capture it. That is not something I take lightly. Ever.

I am so deeply grateful to be part of something so much bigger than a camera and a lens. 🌿📸
