Big thanks to @joe.the.maker and the @montsalvatartscentre team for giving us the opportunity to fire in the anagama kiln. I learnt a lot, slept very little and was stoked (pun intended) with how these wood fired pots came out. The exposure to all things clay has been amazing through the Clay Ed program running at @warrandytepottery this year. Couldn’t recommend enough to any one enough who’d like to learn outside their usual field or comfort zones.

Pots shot at the beautiful @northspace_melb thanks to @hermonblue.

Film from the dreamiest day in clinic treating a beautiful pregnant mama and of course lots of breaks for 🥛

No other stage of adult life brings the psychological, social and physical change as deep and rapid as the transition into motherhood. It is one of the most profound changes you will ever go through and whilst some changes are visible, many are hidden. Women hold so much, often silently. As an acupuncturist I am drawn to the work of providing full spectrum care, throughout preconception, pregnancy and into postpartum. There is something so powerful in providing this continuity of care throughout one of life’s biggest transitions.

Pregnancy particularly is such a unique time during which the demands on the body are so high and you are being stretched, in every possible way. This is such a valuable time to care for both your body and your babies. The first 1000 days refers to the foundational period from conception to a child’s second birthday during which the most significant physical, emotional and cognitive development occurs. This period lays the groundwork for your child’s lifelong health. Your health, physically and psychologically throughout your pregnancy plays a huge role in this. It is a true passion of mine to support pregnancy with acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, not only for your benefit and the easing of pregnancy symptoms, but also for your babies lifelong health.

Lately my mind’s been wandering, spinning between trees, textiles, a flick of a hemline, the twist of a leaf, and the kind of rabbit holes that leave you blinking at the daylight. Small moments that catch & hold.

I’ve also been turning over the idea of process. That glorious, messy pilgrimage we designers all seem to take: stepping into a client’s world, gathering their story, then diving headfirst into the wormhole. Pulling books off shelves, pinning colours, draping fabrics, layering chaos until…suddenly, magic. It’s like simmering a dish; if you don’t let it marinate, you’ll never get that rich, flavourful bite.

But here’s the rub: sometimes I move too fast, jumping to the “answer” before letting the ideas stew in their own juices. Sitting in that discomfort, the unformed, the not-yet—feels just as important as knowing where I’m headed. Something that I want to give myself more joy in doing. And after visiting @bastard_ceramics it’s reminded me that we can continue to discover.

Trees are still my greatest muses. Twisted trunks, peeling bark, the kind of ancient gestures that make you pause and wonder about time. The beauty of feathers ~ especially @_sundance_studio_ collection, which still has me dreaming. Add to that a parade of textures, sculpted forms, pattern clashes that somehow sing. The sweeping falls of @cloudmaystudio weaves. The @etro Fall/Winter collection? Slayed. Those print combinations left me gasping. @elisabettafranchi snake-cinch girdle? Obsessed. And don’t even get me started on my latest guilty pleasure, The Gilded Age. Fashion and interiors that feel like a feast… every frame a new idea waiting to be brought into the 21st century.

So these are the threads tugging at me right now. In between the beautiful chaos of small-business life and part-time juggle, these musings are my grounding: my reminders to slow, to notice, to let things marinate until they’re ripe and ready to serve 🤎
