FAMILY REUNION ❤️‍🔥

For the first time in his 16-year career, Juan Diaz, the former head chef of Latin fine dining restaurant @hernamewascarmen, is stepping out to host his very own pop-up.

Since closing last year, there hasn’t be much of a chance to reunite with his kitchen family from Carmen. But now, as Juan brings back his favorite dishes and his old team to cook with him, it’s evolved into a full-blown Carmen family reunion.

And it just so happens to be the finale of our summer series.

See you there Sunday, July 27th at Creature’s rooftop, the ‘kitchen in the sky’ in Chelsea. Come for a sunset dinner on the 20th floor or swing by later for fresh music by @itsschristiian spinning until late.

Walk-ins welcome, but reservations highly encouraged. Link in bio.

Last but not least: Top 10 NYC restaurants I tried in 2024! 🤩🍽️

1️⃣ @tatianabychefkwame (braised oxtail featured) - there is a reason Tatiana has so much hype. It’s worth it all and then some. The most unique dishes with incredible flavors all cooked to perfection.
2️⃣ @franciebrooklyn (duck featured) - from start to finish, Francie was an incredible dining experience. Every single dish was delicious and stood out to me.
3️⃣ @nycprimerib (French dip and rib eye featured) - another restaurant that deserves its hype. While steakhouses aren’t usually my type of restaurant, 4 Charles was absolute perfection!
4️⃣ @wayan_nyc (lobster noodles featured) - opened by Jean-georges’s son, this Indonesian /french spot was so interesting and soooo up my ally. These lobster noodles were immaculate and are a must order.
5️⃣ @tuomenyc (“pig out” featured) - probably the most underrated restaurant in nyc. While it’s small, unassuming, and pretty casual, tuome has a Michelin star for a reason!
6️⃣ @emiliosballato (veal & chicken parm, bolognese, and cacio e pepe featured) - sitting next to Anthony Volpe on one side and play boi carti on the other likely tainted my bias, but hey the food was exceptional as well!!
7️⃣ @_oxomoco_ (chicken featured) - a MUST try Mexican Michelin star restaurant that had delicious food, had an incredible ambiance that felt like you were in tulum, and it was reasonably priced!!
8️⃣ @winsonbrooklyn (mochi donut featured) - I have talked about win son bakery more times than I can count. You all know how I feel. Don’t sleep on this Mochi donut though!!
9️⃣ @havandmar (grand jubilee featured) - another very underrated newer spot in nyc. It’s a seafood Ethiopian and Swedish restaurant and it blew me away. This grand jubilee was so insane and had me STUFFED.
🔟 @hernameishan (spicy seafood and rice cake hot pot featured) - the best Korean restaurant I have been to in nyc thus far
