Autumn comes with a lot of expectations for a season that never seems to last long enough. We wait for the leaves to turn, pull sweaters out before the weather quite calls for them, and start making plans around things we can only enjoy for a few weeks. Even breakfast becomes a reason to get outside and make a morning of it.

@centralmarketlancaster annual Harvest Breakfast offered an occasion to do just that. Standholders brought harvest-themed foods outside, with live music, pumpkin painting and face painting adding to the celebration.

A gathering like this feels at home at Market, where the changing seasons help shape what people bring to the counter and what we take home. Food gives us a practical connection to autumn. A favorite seasonal dish can bring back memories of someone’s kitchen or become something we look forward to making for people we love.

Market has its own place in those routines. A favorite stand can become part of a weekly stop, and a quick shopping trip can stretch when a conversation gets going. For someone visiting Lancaster, it might be an introduction to the city. For someone who lives nearby, it might be where they’ve bought groceries for years. Over time, the person behind the counter becomes someone we look forward to seeing.

Harvest Breakfast built on those everyday connections, with the standholders at the center of the celebration. Behind a favorite order is someone who spent the morning preparing food and getting ready to welcome customers. Buying breakfast is a small exchange, but repeated over time, those purchases help sustain the businesses that give Market its character.

Fall calendars fill quickly, and it’s easy to spend much of the season thinking about what’s coming next. Breakfast at @centralmarketlancaster was a good reason to enjoy what had already arrived.

@readit.andeat August Cookbook Club! This month’s book, Sun-Kissed Cooking, by @chefbrookew highlighted bright, fresh vegetables. Everything was truly delicious. Always grateful to @katec0rl for hosting and creating a beautifully curated space for people to explore new flavors and find connections with fellow foodies, seasoned cooks, and newbies. Excited to see the fall cookbooks!

I made savory Al-Pastor Maitake Tacos with a crisp, spicy cabbage slaw. 10/10 will be making again.

Your wedding day only runs as smoothly as the team behind it. 🤍

And we don't take that lightly. Being a great coordinator means showing up for your vendors just as much as you show up for your couple. Because when everyone genuinely likes working together? It shows.🥂

Our June Community Supper was one for the books. ❤️

This month, we gathered around All American by Padma Lakshmi (@padmalakshmi ) and shared a table filled with recipes that celebrated the many cultures, traditions, heritages, and flavors that shape what we call American food.

From dish to dish, every recipe told a story. Together, we tasted our way through the incredible diversity that makes American cooking so vibrant, delicious, and deeply connected.

A huge thank you to everyone who cooked, shared, tasted, and joined us. These evenings are a reminder that food has a special way of bringing people together, creating conversations, and building community around a shared table.

We’re so grateful for each of you and can’t wait to gather together again soon.
