A quick bike check before things get properly wild this weekend. It’s time for mega @midsouthgravel ! I’m very excited to rip through 300 miles weaving my way through the cross timber region of central Oklahoma! It’s gonna be rowdy!

8:00am start Saturday morning, and my TrackLeaders Link is in my bio! Follow my dot!

Day 3 of the @arkansas_graveler was a smaller, easier affair. 34 miles total - the Low Road from Marianna to Helena. This route is definitely home-turf advantage … and I don’t think I’ve ever ridden so casually and admired the beauty of this area so much. Tomorrow and Saturday are big-big days, so I took advantage of the lower mileage to relax a little and enjoy the scenery. First up was breakfast in Marianna, courtesy of the First Baptist Church. There were no powdered eggs here; homemade scramble and flapjacks. A banana in my pocket (seriously), and we were on the road. The Low Road winds through loess hills and hardwood bottoms, ultimately culminating in bald cypress as you get near the confluence of the St. Francis and Mississippi rivers. It is an amazing sight. Rolling into Helena, we stopped at @deltadirtdistillery Now, those of us who have participated in @studiodriftar Mile Zero are no strangers to the hospitality of the Williams’ family. You pair that with the @kingbiscuitbluesfestival though and you’ve got another affair entirely. A quick float on the Hornor Neck Lake to see egrets (😀), herons (😀), and dangerously close carp (😢), and we were off to the blues fest. A short, yet full, day. I’m grateful for journeys like this, even if @elliemae530 is not here to share it. Tomorrow is new roads for me. A long day, and I’m excited for what lays ahead.

Blazing summer heat means some time to tinker with the bike some more. Setup keeps getting closer to being absolutely DIALED.

Picked up a set of @zippspeed 303S wheels from @cbburks and some white graphics from @slikgraphics, and wrapped them in a set of Vittoria Terreno T50s thanks to @vittoriatires and @thankgravelitsfriday ! I’ve put a couple hundred miles on this wheel and tire combo and I’m a big fan. Video coming soon!

Still a few more touches to make to this bike before mega @midsouthgravel in a few months, but it’s definitely close to its final form. Exciting post season changes from @hex_carbon_workshop as well 🫣👀.

Chasing big goals, riding long miles, and toeing the starting lines of the some of the coolest off road races around, is just not possible without having someone in your corner to fix things when they go wrong, answer stupid questions, and always have your back on any wild idea you might have.

@frankwebber with @shift_modern_cyclery and @hex_carbon_workshop has always answered whatever wild question I have, from custom paint designs for a post season frame refresh; to after hours custom mullet drivetrain installs. Franks vast experience has always guided me in the right direction! I can always count on him to have me covered no matter what! Much love to Frank and the team at Shift Modern Cyclery!

Before and after on JR’s Factor seattube repair. He had @hex_carbon_workshop do the carbon work and we patched up the paint on 70% of the seattube. We still need to polish blend the old and new clear but suffice to say you can’t tell there was catastrophic damage to this thing. #CustomPaint #DesignOrDie #Factor #OstroVam #PaintRepair #ProBikeDesign #Custom #Bicycle #Paint #UpgradeYourUpgrades #Watertown #Connecticut

Broken is not a static term at @hex_carbon_workshop. This customer was smart and purchased premium protection on their already broken frame, which saved them from paying for additional carbon repair work 🤓

This Top Shop Tour (full video link in bio) is anything but “your typical neighborhood bike shop”. The same building holds @shift_modern_cyclery and @hex_carbon_workshop. Shift is the bike shop side of the business focusing on service/ retail and helps streamline the full service carbon repair done by Hex. 2-3 week turn around times on carbon repair shipped back to the customer by yours truly 💙 Let Frank show you around the shop!
