Some will tell you: music is Haram. If you ask me I would tell you: it's Haram not to listen to this.

Whatever you carry, Muslim, sunni, shia, Christian, Jewish, Less energy on which hand we use to eat food with and more energy on being kind to each other.

I wish music didn't have to be political. I wish a post like this didn't have to be political. I wish it could just be what it is, a shared human thing.

But since that's not the world we're in, let me say the obvious part out loud: Iran is not the enemy. War is not the answer. It never has been.

Persian scales have notes Western ears aren't tuned for, quarter-tones, in-between pitches, sound that lives between the keys.

@mehrnam_rastegari plays them on kamancheh, a bowed instrument older than the violin it inspired.

After a chain of unacceptable artwork for tomorrow's show we had to take matters into our own hands.

Now, with the power of cutting edge technology, we managed to create the most communicative appealing poster possible.

Culture lab, Party Nerves, Brighton Beat, you can all step aside and face art in its purest Animorphic form.

Congrats to Darcy & Conor! Cool party! Honor and pleasure to be part of it!

The LIRR escape Saturday to Mattituck was the perfect prelude before taking the stage Saturday night.
An iced matcha latte at Love Lane Kitchen and veggie chili and chicken satay from Good Food made for a great mini vacation break before the Sugar Park band gig at Meadowlark North Fork in Cutchogue. Infinite gratitude to Mike Weisberger for the call!

The NYC scene is pure serendipity. I reconnected with Clara Lofaro, a stellar vocalist I produced tracks for over a decade ago. Wild!
The whole band was grooving hard, led by MD Eran, who simultaneously drums, directs, and sings lead! The vocals were soulful and fierce!
Also, Trading and playing lines with trumpet player Chris Rogers, whose dad Barry played trombone famously with La Perfecta, reminded me how small this world gets when you stay open. We knew so many musicians in common! It’s hard to not love life when it loves you back like this!
Summer is just beginning, here’s to a great season of joyful noise!
