I bounced around from salon to salon in the earlier years of my career, being so unhappy with my experiences that I opened my own studio. I honestly had lost faith that I would find that “salon family” and then the #riotsquad came into my life. I have never met so many artistic, rad, funny, fun, different, soulmates in my life. We’re all the same yet so different!! I remember last year at the first get together where I met everyone for the first time I was just a huge ball of nerves and anxiety and had a lot of shit on my plate in life. It’s funny how that has all faded away now and here we are and all I want to do is spend more time with these incredible people.
We all have our stories, obstacles and just plain shit we’ve gone through in life, and yet here we all are kicking ass together and causing a ripple in this industry we all love.
I can’t thank @alexisbutterflyloft and @davidbutterflyloft enough for letting me into your lives and family. I am so humbled, grateful and inspired by you both for everything you have done to pave the way for us to have this wonderful group of people and the chance to live out all of our dreams.
Also a huge thanks to @marimia for keeping all of our asses straight and all the planning that goes into everything you do for us.
And thank you to all the educators we had the pleasure of learning from this weekend! Thank you for taking the time out of this trip to give us such an inspiring and educational experience @alexisbutterflyloft, @hey_ellbee, @bottleblonde76, @garrettkenroach, @stevietheo, @katkolors, @hairbykaseyoh, @hairbymisskellyo and @doug_theo #pulpriot

All we have is what we give to this life and the people around us. I’m not perfect. However, I have tried to build people up in this industry and always bring class. Today @theconfessionsofahairstylist asked me to support #positiveinfluencer by posting a selfie (this is the closest I have to a selfie). We work in a cutthroat industry where everyday we put work out there for people to judge. This is uncomfortable for all of us but we need to have a safe environment to create, a platform free from bullying. I for one will always choose to love people and be nice. Life is just more fun that way.
