Late in 2018, I got a call from Paul (he’s my agent) that stunned me, in the best way. He‘d just had a conversation with a company that was bringing country music to the entire UK 🇬🇧 on a brand new station. They’d never had country music accessible to UK fans at that level, before, and they had specifically asked that I be part of it. I’ve been lucky enough to find ways to travel with friends and spent many many hours in Europe letting my radio nerd shine! I bought a pocket radio on my first trip to Italy and would plant myself in different countries (regardless of my ability to translate everything being said) and took PAGES of notes as I listened & imagined that some day I’d be able to broadcast my love for music 🎶 to listeners overseas (imagined that I might have a syndicated show some day, and maybe even get to be part of the lives of those listeners in person at musical events). Years later, not only did this dream come true, but it came true because of a station which will always be one of the top highlights of my career. @thetybentlishow became the MOST-listened-to Country radio program across the UK 📻- was nominated for a Britain’s massive ARIA Awards - and will forever be one of the greatest honors of my career. Bauer Media has proven to be one of the top companies in our industry (I still remember the first call I had with them, as my family and I were hiding away in the Final Frontier suite at the @theroxburyexperience in upstate NY)... James, Pete, Lauren and everyone who made our show sound it’s absolute best each day deserve so much credit, but the true reason for success of the format is the worldwide love from YOU - country music fans. I’ve gotten to meet many of you when you’ve visited Nashville and joined our studio audience, or through social media messages and even at random grocery stores or nights out, where you’d kinda sneak up and say “I listen to your show” - I’ve loved sharing these moments and country music with fans overseas and want to acknowledge exactly how special @CountryHitsUK happens to be!
