SAVAGE SEASON. By Too Many Lights LLC

There’s a moment between 27 and 30 years old in everyone’s life where shit gets real. Whatever idea you had of adulthood crashes and burns and Life (with a capital L) stares at you in the face, challenging you. “What are you made of, punk?” This time period confronts us and forces us to look unflinchingly at ourselves in the mirror. It dares us to detangle what we’ve been taught by our parents and choose a more assertive, deliberate, savage version of adulthood. Cue: Savage Season.

Come through this Saturday (4/11) from 5-7pm at Park & Lex Studios for an intimate screening and talkback of Crystal Boyd’s original short film, Savage Season. 🎞️

The plot: choosing yourself and allowing your people to choose you too. 💜

Relatable content? Well, yes lol.

After the screening, we’ll vibe out, so pull up bring yourself, a friend, and your preferred beverage. We’ve got the wine and cheese. 🍷

A Sunday wrapped in sweet love 💕 Thank you, as always, to our poets who make Readings at Sunset so special. We spent the afternoon sharing and listening to love poems and it was exactly what we needed. ♥️

After this month we have decided to make Readings a seasonal offering. We will no longer be hosting this event monthly. Our next Readings at Sunset will be in June for Pride. We’ll see you then! 🙏🏽

bts + SHEER JOY from the @nycindieshortsawards New York premiere…. This film is about village and the VILLAGE showed up ok?!????? It’s funny, we love how people can’t place the film in a box. In NYC we were in a horror/gore shorts film block 👀 now we’re being nominated as a comedy at @micheauxfilmfest and in the Women film block 😍🥹🥹 THANK YOU for traveling with us on this tiny + mighty engine of a film… much more to come 🎥🔥🔥🔥 #enterthesavageseason #limitless #genrebending

This weekend SAVAGE SEASON officially premieres at the New York IndieShorts Festival! As former NYU Tisch kids, coming back to our artistic home of NYC is always full circle. We can’t wait to see some of your faces, and look out for pics from the red carpet! For those of you in LA that did not make HollyShorts, stay tuned on another LA screening at the Micheaux Film Festival in late October. DC, we’re coming to you in the New Year.

Thank you all for being a part of our journey and creating this moment together.

Take good care,
Crystal + Nardeep
