Many thanks to everyone who came out to the @occhildrensbookfest this weekend. The idea for our Viet Corner started two years ago when @gemmas.library, @alicetrinhwrites, and @storytimewithcal participated in the festival and envisioned a fun space where families and book readers could discover Vietnamese children’s books. This year, we made that dream a reality. It was special to make a space that celebrates our stories, culture, and voices in children’s literature alongside @heydaisyd who debuted her first children’s book called, ‘The Girl and the Water Buffalo.” Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported our work. We are showing the next generation what it means to amplify meaningful stories. If you believe in making space for more diverse stories, follow and share your favorite authors in the comments. #VietnameseBooks #ChildrensBooks #AAPI #AAPIHeritage #childrensbookauthor
