POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

On this episode, we dissect the multifaceted career and powerful voice of an OG artist with a new-school sound.

My guest is Mike, better known to his fans as King Co.

Rapping, acting, screenwriting, and voice-over work are just a few of the ways Mike expresses himself. But none of it would have become a reality without poetry—the art form he first embraced while writing poems for girls. To this day, poetry remains at the core of everything he creates.

We also talk about his sneaker collection and why, if you’re serious about your kicks, you’ve got to own two pairs of every colorway.

On this episode we ask an asparagus farmer what it’s like to make music in the music capital of the world, Austin, Texas.

My guest is Ritchie and although he’s left as asparagus farming behind, he had to. It wasn’t his path.

Ritchie grew up on such a farm in Canada. But, after hearing live music for the first time, he knew that was his purpose, to make music. And not only because it was his purpose but, it would be what led to his greatest success, sobriety.

We also talk about rap music, “making music in a funk” and “sober living nonsense”.

On this episode, we talk game one cool dad to another with a former tagger turned street artist and comedian.

My guest is @josiahchenowith_comedy and for him, being a dad comes first. So much so that he stopped doing comedy for almost 20 years.

Josiah grew up in a Jehovah’s Witness household with a father who spent much of his childhood in prison. Determined not to repeat the past, Josiah made his son his top priority—even losing jobs along the way because he chose to put his son first.

We also talk about working for free, the impact of music, and what exactly makes something a beefy.
