Sharing some more behind the scenes of building the product that we wanted for our own weddings. Over the past 6 months, we’ve gone through a whole journey to perfect a beautiful wedding album and we’re so proud of where we’ve landed so far. Swipe to read more about our journey 👉👉👉 We both come from tech backgrounds, so quick and cheap MVPs are what we’re used to when validating a concept. Our first pass was printed through Canva. We were so excited to feel the weight of our effort in our hands for the first time. Unfortunately, there were some quality issues; the cover was thinner than the inside pages, leading to quick wear and tear on the book in a couple of weeks. Not what we’re after for a keepsake that’s supposed to last you a lifetime! Our next print came with some color inconsistencies between the copies. It was time to find an official print partner to work with… Natasha searched high and low and finally found a local printer, and we even visited their print shop to see them in action! We were exposed to the overwhelming world of print, learning about paper weights, textures, size and aspect, binding options and more. For our first sample, we chose a matte softcover with a velvety finish, a 150gsm matte paper and decreased the size from A4 to a letter size for a more refined feel. We then updated our masthead on our covers to create more brand recognition and swapped the matte paper for a 120gsm European semi-gloss paper called MONDI. It feels like a hybrid between gloss and matte with a luxe finish, so it is heavily eased in architectural and fine-art print. Finally, our couples were asking us for hardcover all the time, so we decided to create a hardcover option! We LOVE this book. It feels so tangible, sturdy and filled with richness. From outside to in, we’ve landed on a product we’re so proud of and can’t wait to share with all of you recently engaged or married couples. Like, ugh it’s perfect Follow along for more behind the scenes of our journey, as we seek to tell the unique love stories of every couple. #wedding #weddinginspo #weddingalbum #weddingphotography #designstudio

We love listening to our couple’s first dance songs while designing their pages to really immerse ourselves in the feeling of their wedding day. Music is one of the greatest memory triggers, and hearing these while seeing photos makes us feel like we were transported to that beautiful moment. What was your wedding song? 🎶🎧 #wedding #weddinginspiration #lovestories #weddingplanning #sonderandstories

And just like that, 6 months of product development has flown by and we’re more and more proud of the work we produce by the day. It’s been a lot of time spent nurturing our creative and storytelling skills, finding the right print supplier for our albums and figuring out our design style. You can see how many books we’ve prototyped and then designed with, which is a really nice showcase of the progress we’ve made! Thanks for following along and supporting our vision to tell every couple’s unique story through an editorial design album, that’s more than just photos. And thank you to the couples who have believed in us and put your trust in our hands to create you something memorable and lasting. #weddingmagazine #weddinginspiration #lovestories #weddingplanning #sonderandstories
