[Long post ahead] My favorite Valentine’s Day tradition is donating to @childrensnational 🧸❤️ On this day, 9 years ago, our daughter showed symptoms we knew were abnormal for an 8week old. After successfully advocating for her to receive specialized tests and scans, we were transported to Children’s National for emergency surgery. (Parents - trust your gut!) Our journey from that point was worrisome and at times felt endless, but the teams we worked with were incredible! A special shout out goes to her neurosurgeon who reminded us to lean into our faith and optimism. We spent our time praying, singing New Edition, and soaking up every moment with our girl.
9 years later, after being told that the damage in her brain would likely cause intellectual disability and limitations in motor skills, I’m grateful to testify that God is a healer! These days, our girl is above grade level in reading, is a budding fashion designer, performed as a junior cheerleader for the Washington Commanders, learned to snowboard, and is becoming a horse girl. Our days of surgeries and specialists are becoming a distant memory, but we’ll always support this hospital for the love, care, and understanding they provided.
Last fall, we participated in their 5K “Race for every child” and raised money for the hospital. Today, we continue our tradition. Valentine’s Day could look different for my family, but thankfully it looks like the last slide posted here! 💃🏽❤️💐✨

On purpose. ✨

Stage makeup hits different — every brushstroke was meant to translate under lights, movement, and presence.
Kommencement: Kingdom Kome for Kush Models Entertainment was nothing short of powerful, and the models? Simply legendary.

Honored to create looks that matched the energy, confidence, and dominance they brought to the stage. This was art in motion. 👑

A Dose of Bliss.
My first fully produced piece—start to finish.
Choreography, formations, visuals, costumes… all of it came from the vision I saw in my heart. And these 9 women? They brought it to life with passion, precision, and power. I’m so thankful to each of you for trusting me, showing up, and giving this piece your everything.

Moment of transparency:
There were many times when I struggled to believe in my own vision; to trust that I could pull it all together the way I saw it in my mind. But when a whole company stands behind you with belief, support, and love… there’s no reason not to believe in yourself too.

Thank you to @bliss_dance_company for creating space for artists to grow beyond limits, and to @love_sasho for trusting in my voice as a creator. I’ll never forget what this moment meant to me.

Bliss - Perfect happiness; great joy💚🤍
~
Last May, I made the big decision to not return home to Alabama and move to Maryland instead. I spent the rest of the year longing for a sense of community, but had no clue where or how to find it. So with that—paired with my desire to dance—I searched for studios in the area and came across Cerdafied Dance Studios. There, I met my now CEO and co-captain/big. FUN FACT: I wasn’t even going to tryout for Bliss. I hadn’t danced really at all in 2023, and I just felt like I didn’t have it anymore.
~
Not only do I still have it, I am better now than ever before. In the past, I was hyperfocused on the things that I wasn’t good at or couldn’t do and, unfortunately, it kept me from seeing the things that make me who I am. From Southern Flair to simply Phlare, this is no coincidence in my mind. Thank you @joeyfaith_ for convincing me to tryout for Bliss and being THE standard and example of performance and leadership. Thank you @love_sasho for being the light and presence that you are, which pushes everyone in your vicinity to do and be better. Thank you @bliss_dance_company for being the community that I longed for. While I may be far away from my physical home, home is right here with my company.

Until next szn…💚
