POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A little throwback to 2020 :)

That year, @katjonescreative was honored with Best Digital Content at the RVA Dance Awards. Here’s a look back at some of the dancers who were also part of that year’s awards whom Kat had the pleasure of photographing.

Among these dancers is Tony Colden, who passed away in 2021. His artistry and presence will forever be treasured by the community 🤍

The awards ceremony has now grown into the Virginia Dance Awards (@vadanceawards), continuing to celebrate the incredible dance community across our state!

Know someone who deserves to be recognized this year? Nominate them by September 30th! The ceremony will be held on December 5th, 6pm :)

this past week I was able to experience an unbelievable workshop that completely changed my view of all aspects in life. this space was created and formed by the amazing Eef Jansen. this was a space where all types of creativity, passion, and love for the art form was shared, challenged, and cherished. stepping into this room felt like finding myself for the first time. being able to wake up everyday and take class from Eef Jansen has been one of the top highlights in my entire life. truly thank you for such an amazing and fulfilling week and I hope one day we will meet again!

and a big shout out to @hennyjurriensstudio for creating this opportunity for so many wonderful talented individuals from all around the world!

senior chor recap🦋

to my cast,
I am so grateful to you all for creating this piece to be better than I could’ve imagined. Thank you for putting up with my crazy ideas, taking risks more and more through the movement, and being vulnerable with yourselves and the piece itself. You all are amazing talented humans and I couldn’t have dreamed of a better cast to work with on my final composition at ECU. I love you all so big🤍

to deasura,
thank you for trusting me with your piece and for allowing me to be a part of something so special to you. I am so thankful that we had each other to lean on during this process for both of our pieces and cannot thank you enough. I can’t wait to see where your talent takes you after we graduate! I love you so big de🩵

I am so grateful for everyone that played a role in making this experience what it was and am so proud of my fall senior chor class for the incredible show we put on! I can’t wait to see what this last semester of college brings🤍
