Bahrain and France Forge Stronger Strategic Ties as King Hamad and President Macron Hold High-Level Talks

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held official talks with His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding strategic cooperation between the two countries.

The two leaders reviewed the longstanding friendship between Bahrain and France and explored ways to deepen cooperation in investment, economic and political affairs, defence, sustainable development and advanced technology, in pursuit of their shared interests and objectives.

They also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual concern, particularly the situation in the Middle East and ongoing efforts to address regional challenges.

At the beginning of the talks, His Majesty the King welcomed President Macron and his accompanying delegation to Bahrain, describing the visit as a reflection of the deep-rooted historical ties between the two nations.

His Majesty highlighted the significant progress achieved in bilateral relations, built on mutual respect, shared perspectives and a common commitment to a more secure and prosperous future.

The King also underscored the importance of the defence cooperation agreement signed during his visit to France last February, describing it as a significant milestone in expanding collaboration in security, energy and technology.

His Majesty noted that the agreement would further strengthen trade, scientific and cultural exchanges while opening new opportunities for major joint projects in energy, industry and transport.

Among the key areas of potential cooperation is the railway project that would connect Bahrain with other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries through new bridges, reinforcing regional connectivity and supporting economic integration.

SCYS General Secretariat Prohibits Horses from Entering Nasser bin Hamad Cycling Track

The General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports has announced, following coordination with the relevant authorities, that horses are prohibited from entering the Nasser bin Hamad Cycling Track in Zallaq.

The decision aims to prevent direct risks to the safety of cyclists, walkers and runners using the track, as well as to protect the cleanliness of the facility and its surrounding environment.

The General Secretariat explained that the track is designated exclusively for cycling, walking and running, in accordance with its approved regulations and permitted uses. It stressed that bringing horses onto the track constitutes a clear violation and poses an unacceptable danger to its users.

Accordingly, horse owners and riders are strictly prohibited from entering the track under any circumstances.

The General Secretariat emphasised that all violations will be monitored, documented and referred to the relevant authorities for the necessary legal action. It further affirmed that no leniency will be shown towards anyone who endangers the safety of track users or causes damage to the facility, its amenities or its cleanliness.
