I wrestled with this one. BAD. 😮‍💨

It’s one thing to preach grace…but, another thing to confront what that grace actually means when it reaches somebody you wouldn’t have chosen. 😮‍💨

With motherhood, mental illness, justice, and the humanity of people who’ve done the unimaginable all on the table…I had to confront some things about my own theology.

This conversation challenged me as a mother, as a woman living with mental illness, and as somebody who genuinely believes in the grace of God.

QTNA:
• Does somebody have to become understandable to me before I can believe they’re worthy of grace??? 🤔
• At what point does my need to understand become a condition I’ve placed on somebody else’s humanity??? 🧐
• And who gave me the authority to decide that?! 🙇🏽‍♀️

This is where my theology started challenging ME. 🫠

I thought I believed in radical grace…until I followed that theology somewhere I didn’t particularly want to go. 😮‍💨

Grace is beautiful when we’re talking about people whose mistakes we understand…but, what happens when the person is actually guilty??? When what they did is horrific???When you can’t find a diagnosis, explanation, trauma or circumstance that makes them easier to empathize with???

Does EVERYbody still mean EVERYBODY?!
👀👀👀👀
Yeah…this one f’d me up Scoob 🫠

A boundary will teach you real quick who was benefiting from you not having one. 🌪️😮‍💨

And whew…there’s the conversation — the hardest part isn’t saying no, it’s realizing how differently people respond to you once you do. 👀

sometimes you don’t recognize alignment while you’re standing in it…you recognize it when you look back.

and whew…God has a way of making sense of things you didn’t even know He was doing.🥹

This is just one of the many reasons I’m so excited about this new era of Sacred + Unfiltered.

Honest conversations.
Real questions.
Faith, church, theology, community, identity…
and all the places where those things get messy.

We’re just getting started. 🛋️

Come get in The Room.

There’s something about seeing the words you’ve been trying to believe about yourself… sitting right there in your hands.

Affirmations for God’s Favorite Rebel was created for the moments when you need to remind yourself who the hell you are… without disconnecting from who God called you to be.

Sometimes you don’t need another sermon.
You need a reminder!…and sometimes that reminder needs a little cussing. 😂

This is more than an affirmation deck. It’s a daily conversation with yourself.

50 affirmations for the believer who loves God, questions everything, and refuses to shrink themselves to fit inside somebody else’s idea of faith.

If that sounds like you., you probably need this deck.🫱🏽‍🫲🏾
