@un_settlement felt like a dream. To be in community with so many inspiring artists, where everyone’s practices are so individualistic yet our moral compasses point in a similar direction, is a gift.

Thank you @avalochfarmmusicinstitute , @hedtearne , @chanaporter , @bakudiiiiiiiiiii , @niaeas , @white_boy_scream and all the other members of the resident ensemble for creating an environment that seemed to be both challenging and critical while realigning our creative spirits. What a gift, what a gift, what a gift!

To all the other session artists: I love you all. I’m deeply moved by being with you. And I can’t wait to see how we all move through the world after this WILDLY beautiful week! (I wish I could include ALL of the pics and videos I took of everyone’s work!! I wish I could tag everyone!!!)

Thank you @hedtearne and all the other organizers for the first @un_settlement session last week. I learned a lot, loved so much music, and made so many friends. A lot of great music is going to come out of this. Also I ran out of tags! Bye everybody.

just woke up dreaming about this place. what an incredible group of people. no word or phrase or emoji or meme or insta post or ChatGPT summary could describe it in full. i just wish i could still be making weird experimental shit out there in the woods w these guys! guess i’ll just keep chipping away here thinking fondly about all of them

i worked on an idea for a piece here with the assistance and guidance of artist @niaeas that’s going to take me a few years to fully realize, so bear with me. it’s gonna be my first Big Piece i think. like strictly in terms of scale and stuff, not importance, although it will be extremely important for me to make. i’m gonna need to continue learning a few extra skills that i began to acquire here. the most important of those skills i learned was to make things first and question them later, not worrying about how it’ll be perceived

thanks @un_settlement for reminding me what about music gives me joy and for giving me a renewed sense of purpose :,) love u guys

How can we consciously, ethically, meaningfully collaborate with other artists? How can our music invite fluidity and hybridity?

Very excited to announce the next installment of ENTELECHY this coming Tuesday evening 7/21 with mad genius sound/instrument/hardware experimentalists:

@ashcanorchestra
@thebeaktrio + @m_a_t_t_b_e_n_t
@kwamiwinfield
@timothyrusterholz
@altimetry_music
@xlbag

Entelechy (/ɛnˈtɛləki/): The evolutionary force through which a thing becomes what it already is. The organizing impulse that draws something toward the fullest expression of its inherent structure—the pattern encoded in the seed, the unfolding of what was always there. Entelechy is the drive through which life discovers and actualizes its potential.

When I say, this is an incredibly epic band, I’m not lying. We had a literal blast playing for #Bradiela on their super special day. Congrats to this amazing couple, and to proud mama @lindalamama for her amazing vision, her big heart, and her gorgeous spirit. We love you madly. We also loved playing with the one and only @l.i.s.a.f.i.s.c.h.e.r - hoping to stumble on some videos of this monumental and beautifully insane musical extravaganza soon. Big shoutout to @jazzbone13 for his fearless and freaky band leading, his insanely perfect arrangements, and his dance moves! Let’s take this band on the road! #livemusic #hornheavy
