A few moments from ❄️ Reimu 冷夢, presented by @hibikiproject . A haunting reimagining of the Japanese folktale Yuki Onna, exploring love, grief, memory, and the fragile boundary between dreams and reality. Grateful for the opportunity to photograph @mabelwonnacott ’s beautiful vision paired towards @kentostratford ‘s imaginative and daring soundscape and especially to capture the delicate, intimate moments between @chihirosounds (Yuki) and @anikavenkatesh (Kanade). From the smallest gestures to the interplay of light, shadow, and movement, there was so much tenderness and emotion to discover through the lens. Thank you to the entire Reimu team for having me document this wonderful production.

Träumend hing die Blume am hohen Stengel. Abenddämmerung umzog sie. // Dreamily hung the flower on its tall stem. Dusk enveloped it. i adore this passage of music, and it was such a treat to get to play it myself at @confluconcerts last november with @chihirosounds of @hibikiproject. there’s a sensation of delicacy that only kurtág captures in his music, and this kafka-fragment hangs in that world for seemingly an eternity. check out the video for more of my thoughts on the music 🙏🏼 video: @cathyord4319 sound: santosh naidu audio mixing: @mattantal #cello #newmusic #kurtág #kafkafragments #contemporaryclassical
