@emokidsanonymous did ask me to contribute to their article but I’ve been struggling and didn’t get around to it.
Also this excludes what I considered to be a pop punk. Because I have my own list of my favorite pop. 🖤🤘🏼

Hidden in Plain View - Life in Dreaming
20th Anniversary Pressing (Forest Green & Clear Pinwheel)

Some records don’t just remind you of a certain time in your life — they put you right back in it.

Hidden in Plain View’s Life in Dreaming will always be 2005 for me. That summer I was out on Warped Tour selling merch for my friends’ band, and Hidden in Plain View were one of the bands we ended up hanging out with pretty often along the way.

Because of that, I can’t really separate this album from that summer. Hearing these songs now brings back the heat, the parking lots, waking up in a different city every day, watching bands from the side of the stage, hanging around after the shows, and all the random moments in between that somehow stick with you 20+ years later.

Life in Dreaming was already a great record, but having it tied to those memories makes it mean something completely different to me. Every time I put it on, there’s a little part of me that’s back on Warped Tour in 2005.

Funny how a record can become a time machine without you even realizing it.

What’s your best memory from the 2005 @vanswarpedtour ?

WE’RE BACK with another part! Continuing the series with more of my favorite 90s/00s Emo & Post-Hardcore albums! 🖤

The rules remain the same: 1 band, 1 album. These are the records that defined the scene and still hold up today! ✨

What’s your favorite? 🫶🏼

Stay tuned for more! ⚡️

Twenty-five years at @backroom_studio, and today I’m saying goodbye to the place where so much of my musical journey took shape.

Hundreds of songs were written here. Thousands of tracks were rehearsed. Countless tours were planned and prepped within these walls. This space has been so much more than a studio, it has been a second home and the backdrop to some incredible memories.

Bittersweet doesn’t even begin to describe it, but I’m grateful for every moment spent here.

A huge thank you to @kevin_backroom for 25 years of friendship and hospitality.

Now it’s time for the next chapter. The home studio is officially in the works.
