It was insightful hearing from some of the judges share about their experiences judging in the inaugural Kosher Spirits Awards 😃

Thank you SO MUCH to both our judges and to our stewards for their time, energy, and thoughtfulness in making the inaugural Kosher Spirits Awards a good experience for all🥃🎖️

A special thank you to our judges for dedicating their palates and experience in sharing their ratings of dozens of different beverages👏

A special thank you to our stewards for not only serving and clearing the samples to our judges, but also for their cleverness in setting-up and beyond👏

What a fun day judging all kinds of spirits at the first-ever Kosher Spirits Awards in Cincinnati, hosted by @jew1shdrinking, Drew Kaplan and my whiskey writing cohort @lougirl502 . Met so many cool people, saw some industry friends, and, of course, tasted so many amazing pours.

Same medal, 40x the price 🙃

ISC is one of the strictest comps out there. A double gold means literally every judge scored it gold with no split votes....and somehow a bottom shelf supermarket pour earned the same status as a mizunara finished collector's bottle? Make it make sense.

Swipe through and tell me if you think the judges got it right.

💋Widow Jane Black Opal $470 - 20+ yr, mizunara-finished. White miso / apricot / tobacco / brown butter / chocolate ganache.

💋Knob Creek 21 Year $300 - Beam's oldest release ever. Caramel / char / toffee / caramelized sugar.

💋Old Fitzgerald Fall 2025 $160 - 11-yr bottled-in-bond wheater. Leather / honey / butterscotch / figs / milk chocolate.

💋Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel $43 - Double-oaked finish. Caramel / pepper / milk chocolate / a hint of smoke.

💋Kentucky Beau $40 - 6 yr, 100 proof. Caramel corn / cinnamon / nutmeg / leather.

💋Elijah Craig Small Batch $23 - 94 proof. Vanilla bean / sweet fruit / fresh mint, nutmeg.

💋Maker's Mark Classic $21 - The wax-dipped icon. Sweet oak / wheat / vanilla / soft spice.

💋Evan Williams Black $12 - Bottom-shelf champ. Oak / brown sugar / caramel / mint.

Day 43 | 17 Days to Retirement
60 Days. 60 Bottles. One Legacy.

Pour: Colonel E.H. Taylor Single Barrel Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon

Some bottles come with more than tasting notes. They come with a message.
This one did.

“Let the label tell the truth” is what stayed with me about this pour, and with 17 days left until retirement, that line hit a little deeper than usual.

Because there comes a point when you stop polishing the story for other people and just tell the truth about who you are.
About what you built. About what you carry. About what you’re ready for next.

That’s what this season feels like.

And that same truth-telling is shaping the work I’m building through The Bourbon Goddess — bourbon experiences rooted in presence, hospitality, and story.

If you’re planning something that deserves more than the usual, let’s make it worth remembering.
