Yesterday in Valencia Cathedral, we found ourselves in front of the Santo Cáliz — the cup many scholars believe is the actual Holy Grail, the very one Jesus drank from at the Last Supper.

It’s made of agate dating back to the 1st-century — exactly the kind used in Jerusalem. Its material, shape, and craftsmanship all match the period, and its journey can be traced from early Christian communities in Jerusalem, to Rome, and finally to Spain, carefully guarded through centuries of chaos.

Unlike most Grail claims, this one has a continuous trail, making it historians’ favorite contender.

Valencia Cathedral itself is a layered masterpiece — nearly a thousand years old, built atop Roman foundations, a Visigothic church, and later an Islamic site. History literally under every footstep.

I’ve always been drawn to small signs in life, little moments that invite pause. Numbers specifically always seem to be a sign from the divine. And as luck would have it, I walked into the Grail chapel at exactly 4:44. Unplanned. Serendipitous.

Standing there, believing it could be true, the moment felt… powerful. Magical. Timeless. ✨
