How fabulous does @anna_madeleine’s work look in @agsa.adelaide ??

One of over 200 works in #RadicalTextiles, “Sent to the sky, received from the stars” features images from ANU’s SkyMapper database. As it combines my two of my loves - textiles and space - it’s one of my favourites in this expansive, beautiful and STRONG show.

Really enjoyed seeing ‘A Bucket of Beetles’ by Indonesian puppet company @papermoonpuppet at @sydney_festival! A beautiful show with puppets, shadows, mask and lots of bugs! 🐜🪲 It was a delight to meet Co-Artistic director Ria after the show, as well as @hardyog_ and @pambopriyo to hear more about how the show was made. I was astounded to learn that the show was based on a story by Ria’s son back when he was only 4 years old! The puppet designs were all based on his original drawings, and he also is a puppeteer in the show! I loved seeing their installation in the foyer where children drew their own beetles 😊 It was also great to hear about Papermoon’s puppet festival @pesta_boneka which is happening in October this year in Indonesia 🤩 Today was also a fun puppetry excursion with fellow members of the puppetry organisation @unima_oz, which I volunteer for. Thanks @kailah_cabanas, @hil121 and Lenka for joining me, and for my mum Yong who was our photographer 🥰 Tomorrow is the last day of the show in Sydney then they will be off to the @chipuppetfest! https://www.sydneyfestival.org.au/events/a-bucket-of-beetles #papermoonpuppet #bucketofbeetles #puppets #unimaoz #puppeepeople #sketchesbykayyasugi

Some wonderful pieces from an installation of sculptures by Hilary Talbot. The concept is creatures that have evolved from an abandoned piano. So cool!

The largest piano creature in CMAG on the Square.

The whimsical concept behind the imaginary microcosm presented within the glass walls of CMAG on the Square is that these creatures have, over time, evolved from discarded musical instruments. Hilary Talbot, Piano Creatures,
