Big things are happening in North Charleston! We’re excited to reveal the beautifully designed softball complex for Charleston County School District and the City of North Charleston. This brand-new complex now features updated restrooms, concessions, press box, dugouts, backstop, batting cage, and (of course) a game-ready field. ADC provided the civil, structural, and landscape architecture services for the project, allowing the facility to meet National Federation of State High School Associations standards while supporting a variety of the City of North Charleston’s recreational programs. Resilience was also important throughout the design process. The building, backstop, dugouts, and batting cage are each designed to withstand severe weather, including hurricanes. Permeable concrete pavers are also used for the majority of the site paving to reduce stormwater runoff. Design Team: @Smharchitects (architecture), Critical Systems Engineering (electrical engineering), Owens & Associates. Inc (mechanical and plumbing), @Muscosportslighting (sports lighting), and @HillConstruction (General Contractor).

We’re investing in what’s next. 🌳 Charleston Collegiate School has launched The Pillars Pavilion Capital Campaign, a $10 million effort to build a new 12,000-square-foot facility at the heart of our Johns Island campus. Six flexible classrooms. New spaces for the arts, performances, presentations, and experiential learning. More opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and community connection. Most importantly, it’s a space designed to grow with our students and our community. The future of CCS is taking shape, and we can’t wait to build it together. Learn more about The Pillars Pavilion Campaign at the link in our bio. #charlestoncollegiate #capitalcampaign #johnsislandsc #charlestonschools

Built on the former Blackwell Hardware site, Blackwells Corner will create a walkable destination with restaurants, retail, office space, outdoor gathering areas, and community events. We’re proud to be part of this exciting next chapter for Hanahan and can’t wait to see Blackwells Corner come to life. There’s so much ahead, and this is just the beginning.
