From Writer to Fighter takes Gold!🏅@signalawards

After almost 11 years of boxing with @teammijares and hearing people come and go saying, “Someone should really make a documentary about this”— FINALLY someone with the balls, drive, creative talent, and ability to make it to a 6am workout showed up and actually did it! ➡️ @jcoreamericanvalues

From Writer to Fighter doesn’t just give audiences a look into the world of amateur boxing—it reminds us to appreciate our struggles, love our family, ask the tough questions, and be grateful everyday we get the privilege of landing a crispy jab. 🥊

Thank you to everyone who voted for this @signalawards and thank you Josh for bringing me on as a story supervisor to work alongside your wonderful team: @wavlandmedia @xanderlott @jonokino @onlykoda.

Had a little fun at the Centennial Square Boxing Show last month - you may remember it as the site of my big fight. Being back there was a mix of emotions: pure excitement for the people who got to reach their goals, some wistful regret, and a general annoyance at how hot it was. Hope you enjoy and listen to the podcast (link in bio)!

Le Dolce Vita! 🍋 What a dream to spend a Saturday surrounded by the sweetest pup, people, pasta and Aperol spritz!

When you’re lucky enough to get an invite to an Amalfi Coast-themed brunch hosted by @legacyevents1943 @purch76, you steam your linen set and strap on your wedges!

This is proof that when an event is beautifully designed, your photographer can be a little drunk and still get great photos. 📸

I applied to this school at 16, graduated high school early, and moved alone to LA to start this program. These people and these mentors saw me grow up these last two years, and I am so grateful to graduate alongside them as a not so scared woman. Cheers to a sweet end and a long journey 🥂

Congratulations, 2026 Showcase Cast & Crew!

Yesterday, LSTFI had the pleasure of welcoming a prestigious audience of film and television industry professionals to The Marilyn Monroe Theatre in Los Angeles for our second annual showcase of Strasberg talent.

Casting directors, executives, agents, managers, and development professionals all gathered to enjoy this remarkably entertaining team of actors perform within the walls of The Institute that helped equip them for their careers as Method-trained artists.

Thank you to our industry guests for your enthusiastic responses to this year’s hardworking showcase cast, and we look forward to hosting you all again in 2027.

FROM WRITER TO FIGHTER drops today. Making this podcast is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, except maybe quitting smoking, and training to fight a boxing match. I am overcome with gratitude for everyone who made this happen.

Coach David Paul, what did I do to deserve you? You showed up for me every day and taught me so much about the sport and about life. You pushed me, you protected me, you turned me into a sword. Kind of a misshapen one, but I’ll take it!

Xander Lott, my producer - since the days of Just Kicking It you have been my go to Sound Engineer and I am so glad that when I asked you to produce this show at my bachelor party - when I knew you couldn’t say no - that you stupidly agreed. You are a master. That’s a pun. From hiring an editor to negotiating with Bob Dylan’s music people, I could not have done this without you.

Hillary Sterling, my gifted Story Supervisor - you have given me some of the best notes I’ve ever gotten (eat your heart out, Sony). You shaped the show into something more emotionally deep than I ever thought it could be. You challenged me, you wouldn’t settle, and you jumped in on the promo like a champ. That’s a pun. I am forever indebted to you.

I also want to thank my editor Jonathan Ade, who came up with the idea to use media clips to enhance the show, and gave it its rhythm. I want to thank the brilliant @onlykoda who composed our theme basically as a favor and nailed it to the point where it’s in all our promo material. I love it so much.

Thank you to @mattkatz00 who made an award winning podcast and then answered a cold email from an aspiring podcaster, eventually putting me in touch with Wavland, who bought the show.

And of course, Vanessa. @vanessamangoes - what were you thinking letting me do this? Your support and patience throughout — not just the pain and suffering of training, but the pain and suffering of making a narrative audio doc over the course of three years… I’m not worthy. You are amazing. If you ever want to train for a boxing match, I will support you 100 percent. Love you.

Lastly, my family. No spoilers but the conversations that came from this were pure treasure. Thank you.
