Designed by Hintsa Rudman, the Taola dining table features a travertine stone top paired with a solid brass base, finished in aged brass. The contrast between the mineral surface and the sculptural metal structure highlights a balance of weight, proportion, and material integrity. Generously scaled, Taola is conceived as a dining table suited for residential and hospitality environments, offering durability alongside refined craftsmanship.

Introducing Hiwot Collection by @hintsarudman

Established in 2022, Hintsa Rudman is the creative exchange of Francis Rudman and Azamit*

Creative Directors navigating their own respective fields, Azamit was born in Asmara in Eritrea, growing up in Ethiopia before settling in Montreal, Canada - where the two met in 2014. Francis was born in Canada, to Canadian and British parents, spending long summers in the English countryside and the Dordogne in France.

Hintsa Rudman is an assemblage, a coming-together of memories - both individual and collective - fragments that coalesce around their shared thoughts, ideas and experiences. Partners in life and in work, Hintsa Rudman achieves ‘The Dream of a Common Language’ - one that is developed over time and that folds together the many elements of a life lived, both together and apart, resulting in designs that are singular and understated.

*Hintsa is the last name of Azamit’s father - and would therefore be her surname in the Western tradition. In Eritrea they follow a patronymic system where it is the father’s first name that is passed from generation to generation.

Double billing in @openhousemagazine Issue 20:

On pages 78–83 is my piece on the utterly chic and totally delightful Lucas and Tyra Morten @lucastyramorten
We spoke ahead of their wedding/exhibition (or exhibition/wedding) for which they designed and made every detail: from the chairs that guests sat on during the ceremony, to the candelabra that hung above the custom-made dining table. An exquisite and high-fidelity event, it was both a celebration of their past and a way to mark the start of their future - with the studio rebranding from the eponymous Lucas Morten, to the expanded Lucas Tyra Morten.

And on pages 182-189 is a feature on the wonderful Azamit @_azamit - Creative Director, Curator and co-Founder of Hintsa Rudman @hintsarudman
Our conversation focused on the idea of collecting, exploring what Azamit is drawn to - and why; those objects that have informed her eye and inspired her own work.
