Each year, the label Histamine Tapes runs an “Antihistamine” compilation, asking participants to work on experimental tracks without synthesizers, usually following a broad theme. The upcoming one revolves around the idea of “air”, bringing an end to a series of elemental-themed no-synth compilations.

I’m there too, with a track called “Aura Nera”, made using only processed field recording, revamping a series of techniques that I explored in the last couple of years and that I’m showcasing briefly in this video (check out YT!)

The final recording is the result of three layers of the same field recording (a big summer storm) processed with three different techniques, involving modular effects, the MakeNoise 0-coast, and the Max4Live device Granulator.

Have a listen to ANTIHISTAMINE 2025 by @histamine_tapes in bio!

There is a new compilation on @histamine_tapes bandcamp with one humble track from l'arbre nu along side many talented artists.

Here are the words from Rick @nddentico for the theme.

"This years theme is air. I asked participants to record the wind and process it. Stick a contact mic on something in wind storm. or just craft something light and airy. As always the one firm rule was that source sounds need to not be electronically generated. My aim is to try to push us all out of the habit of running to the computer to make our sounds for us. I really want folks to go out into the world and record it. Have a relationship with this ephemeral rock we are on."

Please, go listen to it.
