Honoring a Philly First, we’re proud to introduce the artist behind this week’s #1 sculpture, Sean Bryant @sb.fanart

Sean Bryant is a muralist who has worked as an artist’s assistant with Mural Arts for four years. He has created murals for private companies in Washington, New York, and Tampa, Florida. In 2022, Sean completed a summer internship where he participated in and supported Chenlin Cia and Eurhi Jones on the Chinatown Crane Mural project. Following the internship, he was awarded Mural Artist of the Year and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Game Art. In his traditional work, Sean is passionate about realism and mastering artistic fundamentals, valuing patience and precision as essential parts of his creative process.

This design honors the founding of the United States Navy and Marine Corps in 1775. Through this work, Sean pays tribute to the service, dedication, and sacrifice of those who protect the nation, bringing respect and care to the creation of a three-dimensional piece that reflects the strength and legacy of these military branches.

See the #1 sculpture for yourself at the Firstival this Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 11a.m. - 1 p.m.

⚓ The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps were born right here in Philadelphia!

On October 13, 1775, the Second Continental Congress established the Continental Navy to defend the colonies and intercept British supply ships. Just a month later, on November 10, Congress established the Continental Marines, with Samuel Nicholas leading early recruitment efforts at Philadelphia’s historic Tun Tavern.

These two milestones laid the foundation for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps we know today!

Join us at this week’s Firstival to celebrate this valiant piece of Philly history on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 11a.m. - 1 p.m.

Happy World Quaker Day 🤍

October 4 is the Day of Friends, and I want to honor a community that has been going strong for centuries. 🫶

The Quakers are at the heart of my Harvard research and my application essay, and they have a real place in my script for «War or Peace?» @sci.fi_movie

This video is from my summer trip to Philadelphia, sitting inside the @historicasmh , with Benjamin Lay right behind me. I am here studying his life.

Thank you, @marcusrediker , for your tremendous work and for bringing Benjamin Lay, one of the first abolitionists and a true vegan ❤️, to a new generation.

Thank you, @povinellimark and @benlayplay , for bringing his story to the stage.
