Still basking in the glow of last week and the loveliest birthday celebration I could have imagined. Massive thanks to the beloved friends and kind readers who joined us to commemorate me turning 40 and Luke turning paperback. I am especially grateful to: the brilliant @anthonyramosah at @glaad for being such a fantastic convo partner; marvelous Robin and the whole @bnstudiocity team for all their hospitality; my ardent PR angels @annalee_p @noahcasey7 @_lexikay @braden_devoe @lizzieokamp at @42west for beating the drum on my behalf at every turn; dearest @talyaklein for cover-correct blue and gold flower decorations; and the endlessly generous @miachanger for a cake that tasted delicious, looked gorgeous, and featured a marzipan “me” that was… the ultimate conversation starter! I’ll never forget those eyebrows. 😂🥸

I couldn’t have asked for anything more — until the true showstoppers @simplytroy and @tommydickie wowed me and the whole crowd, giving me a gift I could never have even dared to dream… 😉🥹🤫

All in all, 40 can’t be beat.

That feeling when you’re not 100% sure what you dad looks like cause he left the family when you were very young, but you hope he shows up to your 40th birthday party, despite all evidence to the contrary #family #comedy #sketch
