HMTWNHERO WINS! 🏆

Sometimes you gotta stop being afraid to put yourself out there and just GO FOR IT!

I’m excited to share that I was selected as one of six winners of the Business Boost Pitch Challenge!

As part of this opportunity, I’ll receive a free one-on-one pitch review to help strengthen how I present my vision. But what I’m most excited about is the opportunity to pitch BRWN SUGA BAE in front of a group of people via Zoom.

For the past three and a half years, I’ve been pouring my heart, time, money, and creativity into this project. What started as an idea has grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined. Over 100 Black women photographed, countless stories shared, and a mission rooted in self-love, representation, and making sure the next generation of Black girls knows their worth.

And we’re not finished yet.

I’ve been learning that sometimes the biggest investment you can make in yourself is having the courage to walk into rooms you’ve never been in before. You never know who’s listening, who’s watching, or what doors may open.

A special thank you to the Business & Grant Community curated by @itsscoachk for creating opportunities like this for entrepreneurs and creatives to be seen, heard, supported, and challenged to grow. Being surrounded by people who are serious about building their businesses and helping others succeed is something I don’t take for granted. I appreciate the opportunity and look forward to putting what I learn into action.

This is another step toward getting BRWN SUGA BAE into the world, and I’m grateful for every opportunity that brings us closer.

The goal has never been just to create a beautiful book. It’s to create something that will outlive me.

To every creative, entrepreneur, and dreamer building something from the ground up, KEEP GOING. Even when the support is quiet. Even when the money is funny. Even when you question whether it’s all worth it.

REMEMBER WHY YOU STARTED.

We got work to do!

80% COMPLETE! WE ALMOST THERE! 🤎

Man, what a journey this has been. Three and a half years in the making and we are officially down to our last 10 photo shoots for the BRWN SUGA BAE Coffee Table Book.

I don’t think people really understand how much love, time, energy, sacrifice and dedication has gone into bringing this vision to life. There have been some long days, some frustrating moments, some setbacks and plenty of times when we had to figure things out as we went. But one thing we never did was lose sight of WHY we started.

This project has always been about celebrating Black women. Giving them their flowers, creating space for them to be seen, and reminding them that their beauty and their stories matter. I wanted to create something that a young Black girl could look at years from now and see just how beautiful, powerful and diverse Black womanhood really is.

To every woman who has trusted me enough to step in front of my camera, THANK YOU. You all have helped turn an idea into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

We still have some work to do, but I can finally see the finish line, and I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am to give this book to the world.

We will be announcing the official PREORDER and RELEASE DATES very soon!

We will also be launching our official fundraiser soon to help us complete the final stages of this project. From finishing our remaining photo shoots to production, editing and printing, we want to make sure this book gets the attention and quality it deserves. If you’ve been following this journey and believe in what we’re building, we’re going to need your support to help us bring it across the finish line. Every contribution, every share and every bit of support matters.

Three and a half years later, we’re almost there, y’all. And I promise you, this one is coming straight from the heart.

BRWN SUGA BAE. This is bigger than a book. This is our love letter to Black women.

As a plus-size babe, sometimes you just have to get dressed up, step out, live life, have fun, and do it all with NO regrets! 💃🏽✨

If people can’t love you for who you are, make sure you love yourself unapologetically. Never allow anyone—not a single soul in this world—to make you feel like you aren’t beautiful. ❤️

Your size does not define your beauty. Your confidence, your energy, and the way you love yourself make you shine. 👑💕

Walk in that room with your head held high, own your beauty, take up space, and enjoy your life. You deserve happiness, love, and every beautiful moment this world has to offer. 💋✨

Hey, plus size babies! ❤️

When you finally overcome people looking down on you because of your size and all that thickness the Most High blessed you with, something changes. You start walking different, talking different, and carrying a level of confidence you never thought you would have.

Baby, love on yourself, pour into yourself, and stop shrinking yourself to make other people comfortable. You deserve to take up space, feel beautiful, and be loved exactly as you are. Never forget the power you hold, and most importantly, protect your peace.

That confidence looks GOOD on you! ❤️

Introducing THE BRWN SUGA CONVERSATION. A space for real questions, honest perspectives, and meaningful dialogue.

Why are Black women often expected to understand everyone else’s pain while their own goes unnoticed?

Who checks on the woman everybody depends on? Who gives her space to be vulnerable without expecting her to be strong?

I want to hear from the Black women first, but EVERYONE is welcome to join this conversation.

Let’s talk about it in the comments. Be honest. Be respectful. Different perspectives are welcome.

Allow me to introduce myself. I’m a woman who refuses to play small, shrink myself, or apologize for choosing happiness. I’m living life on my own terms, protecting my peace, embracing my joy, and becoming everything I was meant to be. My happiness is not up for negotiation.

BABY, being a PLUS SIZE BADDIE is a whole different kind of pressure!

All these curves, all this confidence, all this yummy goodness? Some men just don’t know what to do with a woman who takes up space and LOVES every inch of herself!

To my plus size babes, NEVER let a man make you feel like you’re too much or not enough. Your body is not a problem to be solved, your curves are not something to apologize for, and your beauty does NOT require his approval!

If he can’t appreciate ALL that you bring to the table, that’s his limitation, NOT your insecurity to carry. You were never meant to shrink yourself to fit inside somebody else’s comfort zone.

You’re the beauty, the brains, the body AND the blessing! And if he can’t see that? BABY, HE JUST FUMBLED A WHOLE EXPERIENCE!

WE’RE BACK WITH THE BRWN SUGA BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT!

This week, we’re showing love to the incredibly talented @kashmirviii, an artist, art director, and activist who is making her mark through creativity, culture, and unapologetic Black expression! Her work has been featured in @essence, @ebonymagazine, @bet, Insecure, and more! But what really caught my attention is how she uses her creativity to celebrate our culture while building a business around her gifts.

I LOVE seeing Black women turn their ideas into something bigger than themselves. Creating their own lanes, telling our stories, and reminding the world that OUR ART HAS VALUE!

Go follow @kashmirviii, check out her work, and most importantly, SUPPORT HER BUSINESS!

Dear Black Woman,

This is your reminder that choosing yourself is not selfish. You deserve a life that doesn’t require you to constantly sacrifice your happiness, peace, or dreams just to make everybody else comfortable. You are allowed to rest, start over, change your mind, and say NO without explaining yourself.

Your worth isn’t measured by how much you can endure or how much you do for others. You deserve to be loved, appreciated, celebrated, and poured into, too. You deserve softness, joy, and the freedom to live life on YOUR terms.

Today we’re introducing DEAR BLACK WOMAN, our new Monday series dedicated to uplifting, encouraging, and reminding Black women everywhere that they are already enough. Every Monday, we’re sending a little love your way because sometimes even the strongest women need a reminder that they deserve love, too.

With love,
BRWN SUGA BAE

BRWN SUGA FRIDAY SPOTLIGHT!

Some women have a story to tell. Others have a story you NEED to hear. This week, we’re giving flowers to the incredibly talented Netta Brielle! Singer. Songwriter. Actress. Performer. A Black woman who continues to use her gifts to create, inspire, and tell stories that matter.

One thing I’ve learned doing BRWN SUGA BAE is that every Black woman has a story. Some are filled with joy, some with pain, some with triumph, and sometimes all three. But there’s something powerful about a woman who finds the courage to tell her story in her own words.

This November, Netta is bringing her story to the stage with ONE SHOT: A One-Woman Musical Memoir. A reminder that our experiences, our voices, and even our setbacks can become something beautiful.

Y’all go show @nettabrielle some love, follow her journey, and support her upcoming show this November, you can also donate to help make it happen
