New resident!

Hayley Piret @hnpiret

Born in 2002, Hayley Piret is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily with clay and paper. They received their BFA in Ceramics from RISD in 2025.
Hayley is compelled by the anonymity of things and by the way abundance and absence of information can exist within the same moment. Their practice is rooted in becoming intimate with an idea or material, often without fully knowing where it will lead. They approach artmaking as something unseriously serious, allowing intuition and uncertainty to guide the process. What emerges is ultimately tangible and deeply felt. At the center of their practice is empathy, an impulse toward reciprocal recognition and understanding.
At GASBON, Hayley works across functional wear, sculpture, drawing, and print, drawing inspiration from the natural world around them. The moisture in the air has become part of their process. Clay dries more slowly, pencils feel softer, and damp paper changes the way it absorbs pigment. The intricate forms of plants and insects, both living and dead, have also become part of their visual language.
Hayley works on multiple pieces at once, allowing ideas to overlap, evolve, and take unexpected turns. Each work informs the next, with connections gradually emerging as the pieces take shape.
