Convincing you to read the book with the art alone 🎨

These @fairyloot editions of the Courting of Bristol Keats duology are so stunning, you can’t help wanting to read them, just for the art alone 💙 If I am not mistaken, it is made by @hoanglapdoan 💙

This duology seems to have very mixed reviews but honestly, I enjoyed it a lot 🤷🏻‍♀️ To me, it had a good mix of romance and plot and I liked the mystery around Bristol’s parents’ past.

If you have read it, what did you think? 🤎

P.S. Don’t mind the cat tail, she has boundary issues 😂

Where I got my inspiration🪽

I drew a lot of inspiration from gothic and medieval architecture for our edition of The Shadows that Listen by Louisa Carmody. Leaning into the classic depictions of angels with their soft shimmering wings.💜

Felt like I had to take my copy out for a visit to Arundel Castle @arundelcastleuk for a proper full-circle moment. Definitely got a lot of funny looks when I whacked my hardcover out though👀. Ava x

✨💜📚 Special edition spotlight 📚💜✨

We just got back from a wonderful vacation in Sicily and while going through some older videos, I made a shocking discovery…

Apparently I never posted this gorgeous FairyLoot edition of The Last Starborn Seer by Venetia Constantine. 😱

Honestly, I'm glad I found it again because this edition deserves its moment. 😍

The Last Starborn Seer was FairyLoot's March 2026 Adult pick and I still love the colours and artwork just as much as I did when I first unboxed it.

The character artwork is absolutely stunning and I can't get over how beautiful the illustrations on the dust jacket and endpapers are. ❤️

And does the artwork of the phoenix make me super excited to read this story? You bet it does! 😂

This edition feels so vibrant and magical and every time I look at it, it makes me want to finally pick up the book.

❓ QOTD: What's a book on your shelves that you're excited to read but still haven't started yet? 👀📚

Collecting books is collecting art ✨

💬 Can you guess the book? 🪽
Check comments to see if you guessed right

The story itself is a work of art, the real magic lies within its pages. But the appearance of a book can add even more magic to it, as if the enchantment of the story has somehow seeped through the pages and bleeded into the cover, making the outside just as magical as the world within. 📖✨

Anyone who finds joy in art is, in a way, an artist themselves - whether they also create or just collect. ✨

Collecting art means surrounding yourself with magical worlds. Each piece holds a different world, a different kind of alternate reality waiting to be discovered.

Haha, I felt a little poetic today, sorry. 🫣
But this is what holding this masterpiece in my hands made me think about💖

I joined Venetia's Street Team @venetiaconstantine because not only is she a personal inspiration but we speak the same language. I adore the artistic vibe of her entire presentation & the way she seeks to further express her characters with such whimsical attention to detail & theming. She's also such a lovely woman; so kind & thoughtful.

I picked up The Last Starborn Seer from @throneandheart a while ago, which came with two art prints by @crescenthium . The cover illustration is by @niallcgrant. Then I retrospectively picked up a copy of the @fairyloot version just recently & it really is breathtaking. There are 2 exquisite pieces of art by @niallcgrant & the cover design is by Jessie Price at @headofzeus. Venetia has been published by @headofzeus @bloomsburypublishing @bloomsbury_export and @bloomsburybooksus . The supplementary art shown is by @hoanglapdoan.

I wanted to shout out the exquisite human artistry involved in these books, as well as showcasing Venetia & what she's about. For full details, see https://www.venetiaconstantine.com. I cannot wait to receive my pre-order of The Twice Cursed Heir from @waterstones. Have you ordered yours yet? 💚

Current mood 🗡️ Half City by Kate Golden

Last night I had the opportunity to attend A Night at Basgiath in celebration of the release of A Guide to the Kitchen Quadrant (the unofficial Fourth Wing cookbook by Chelsea Cole!!) and had the unique experience of discovering how awkward it is to pose for a photo with a sword. 🗡️😅😆More to come about the event itself but I had to share the sword photo and a close up of the gorgeous braid!

I finally started reading Half City in preparation for the second book that’s releasing soon and I’m LOVING it.

💬 What are you reading or doing this week that’s bringing you joy?

🔖 Thank you to ACE Books via Berkley Romance for the gorgeous gifted sprayed edge paperback copy of the book

Now, let me tell you about some artwork I absolutely ADORE 🥰 some of my favourite art inside of ANY special edition I own is undoubtedly the pieces inside the @bookaddictionau edition of Dark Rise and Dark Heir by C.S. Pacat. These books are AMAZING and the wonderful artwork on these editions helps to embody that. It’s no question why @hoanglapdoan is one of my favourite artists out there!
