Afternoon collection selection! Amazing Spider-Man #338 (September 1990) by David Michelinie, Erik Larsen and Mike Machlan. Cover by Larsen and Al Gordon! Doc Ock has a nefarious plan he’s gathered the Sinister Six to execute! He’s going to launch a poison from a satellite, using ley lines to destroy all life on Earth (not sure any of this makes sense!). Spidey knows they’re up to no good and stakes out the launch site! But…he has to go and will be back tomorrow for the ESU ley lines study. He stops in on Aunt May, whose paramour/ex-fiancee Nathan Lubenski has been killed by the Vulture! (He was dying anyway…and Aunt May is kind of glad he was put out of his misery. But she feels guilty for being glad!). A giant piece of falling rock almost hits Pete…and it was intentional. But who was it? MJ wonders if it was MJ’s stalker, Jonathan Caesar, recently out of prison! Caesar threatens Hal McGee to tell MJ to meet him at a certain set…or else! Hal complies…scared! MJ buys a gun because she is worried! Meanwhile! Hobgoblin grabs some of the poison for his own purposes! Pete returns to the launch site with ESU…and the satellite is attacked by the Sinister Six! Spidey gets knocked down and Ock prepares to kill Spidey! But Sandman protects him (Sandman is a good guy these days, but was extorted into helping Ock in previous issues!) But Ock expected Sandman’s betrayal and zaps him with a zapper…turning him to glass! Ock forces the technicians to launch the rocket—even with many of the 6 still on the launch pad. Spidey and the Six retreat, with Spidey dragging Sandy! Hobgoblin sprays poison in Spidey’s face! Will he be dead next issue!? I doubt it! Mine in the Return of the Sinister Six ASM Epic Collection, bought/read 2019, age 46. #amazingspiderman #spiderman #davidmichelinie #eriklarsen #waltsimonson #terryaustin #sinistersix

Afternoon collection selection! (adjectiveless) Spider-Man #6 (January 1991) by Todd McFarlane (story, art, cover)! The new demonic Hobgoblin (some damned version of Jason Macendale?) has kidnapped a bunch of people, and kills a bunch while torturing others. A dead woman’s son, Adam, is named/appointed Hobby’s demonic sidekick/lieutenant! Hobby torches the building. Ghost Rider pursues bad guys and tortures them before turning his attention to finding the Hobgoblin. Spidey crisscrosses town, seeking Hobby. Ghostie and Spidey convene, finding Hobgoblin and his new demonic lieutenant. To be continued! I confess…I found Todd’s solo stuff (aka, the stuff he wrote) pretty terrible. The art is still Todd-quality, but I did not like this series—and these Hobgoblin issues were no different. Bought/read 2019 in the Spider-Man: Masques hardcover, age 46! #spiderman #hobgoblin #toddmcfarlane

Morning collection selection! Spectacular Spider-Man #261 (September 1998) by Glenn Greenberg, Roger Stern, Luke Ross, and Al Milgrom! Cover by the legendary John Romita Sr! Hobgoblin has Spidey! The Green Goblin (not Norm!) has Daniel Kingsley, Hobby’s brother. It’s a showdown! Norman Osborn (the OG GG, and the boss of this ersatz one) wants his last Green Goblin Journal back. Will Norm torch Hobby before Hobby can discover Spidey’s secret identity! Will Norm get his journal? is Hobby set to die? (He won’t be back for quite awhile!) Next! We’re going back in time a half-decade or so to check out some clones! Check in in 5 days! Bought/read 2019, age 46, in the Hobgoblin Lives trade. #spectacularspiderman #spiderman #glenngreenberg #rogerstern #lukeross #almilgrom

Evening collection selection! Spider-Man: Hobgoblin Lives #1 (January 1997) by the legendary Roger Stern, Ron Frenz and the legendary George Pérez! Cover by Frenz/Perez. Roger Stern ceased his legendary run on Amazing Spider-Man with ASM #252, with the Hobgoblin mystery unresolved. Tom DeFalco took over—and had a plan—but it was scuppered by editorial interference by Jim Owsley (aka Christopher Priest aka Priest!) At that time, it was canon that Ned Leeds was the Hobgoblin, but killed by the Foreigner in the Spider-Man vs. Wolverine one-shot. Peter David did some cleanup in various titles—and other people (Jason Macendale) adopted the Hob identity in the aftermath. But Stern’s original plan for the Hobgoblin was that he would be Roderick Kingsley (fashion designer first introduced in Stern’s Spectacular run). This miniseries exists for Stern to set things right! Jason Macendale is on trial for various murders committed as the Hobgoblin—spawning nightmares of Hobby by Peter Parker/Spidey! Betty Brant also has nightmares about her husband Ned Leeds, who she “knows” to have been the Hobgoblin, though others don’t know. Jameson, likewise nightmares about his own encounters with Hobby—and reporter Jacob Conover grumpy about how Leeds took his important stories. Macendale is found guitly—and he reveals he was not the OG Hobby—telling people to ask Betty about it. She is swarmed by other reporters (she is one!). Spidey swings in to save her. Later, discussing with MJ, they both realize the Hobgoblin could never have been killed so easily. Leeds must not be Hobby! But—Hobby turns up at Macendale’s jail cell…taking down the guards and killing Macendale for embarrassing his legacy! Then the Hob goes on to confront Roderick Kingsley! But isn’t Hobby Kingsley? Or is it his brother Daniel? Or not? Stay tuned! Bought/read in the Hobgoblin Lives TPB in 2019, age 46! #spiderman #hobgoblin #spidermanhobgoblinlives #rogerstern #ronfrenz #georgeperez

Mysterious Adventures 17 December 1953, Story Comics, Dick Beck marriage cover! I really do enjoy the cover, with Bessie and John about to honeymoon in the grave, but interestingly enough, the “Bride of the Dead” balloon the front is advertising no story inside, I guess just explaining the cover? All the stories are post worthy and there will not be enough words allowed by IG to explain them all. 1st story, “Bug-A-Boo” sure looks like an EC story, and I was uneasy reading it, as the layouts, the panels, the Leroy lettering and the balloons are a direct copy of EC! A Pentagon mission to the Amazon Jungle has a bugologist collecting flies, and it’s steamy and insecty! My first swipe shows the climax where giant flies using “human paper” have captured one of the men, dismembering him like a daisy, “he loves me, he loves me not.” Check out Doug Wildey’s Wally Wood looking art, especially that final panel. “One Man’s Poison” is a grandma and grandpa As vampires tale, well done by Ross Andru. I posted the 6 page “Paralyzed” by Ed Goldfarb and Bob Baer for my readers! I think the best story is last, “My Brother’s Keeper” by Bill Savage drawing all Ghastly Graham Ingelslike! Love the splash, half way through this love triangle you gotta figure with both guys in the same bed something is a bit weird. Brothers Henry and Amos are Meat Cutters & very close (heh heh) and when a lovely damsel falls Ill at the deli, Henry cures her and falls for her, much to Amos’ chagrin! Against all odds, Henry marries the girl, but Amos gives her the cleaver! You can see the first page splash and the ending, with Henry and his very close brother! Even this idea was likely barrowed from a story in Unseen 9 from earlier in 1953, “Til Death Do Us Part” by Jack Katz where Circus performers The Cordoba Siamese twins have one fall in love with the red dressed fem fetale and the other brother feeds him to the lions! And then, 9 months later, EC swiped the title for their Siamese Twin story in Shock SuspenseStories 16 by George Evans! #dickbeck #dougwildey #rossandru #billsavage #precodehorrorcomics #mysteriousadventures #storycomics @comicbookchip #marriagecovercomic

*Scammer*
I have recieved information on this person and some shady actions. From the messages this person 'supposedly' sent out packages and when asked for a refund he has delayed the process and has said the books were returned, no proof was presented and multiple people have not been able to get refunds. I would say to avoid this person.

Here are my own personal thoughts:
1. The reason for package not arriving is incorrect postage, this person has said they have sent out thousands of packages but this is the first time for incorrect postage is pretty suspect and imo this shouldnt / wouldn't happen
2. The person on their own page has discussed what has happened, here are my thoughts he's making excuses on there as well and is blaming someone else for the problem and has shown no proof he is trying to fix the situation. For a seller this is also suspect
3. He has not sent a single refund and has said he cant, if u can't provide a refund or take someones info for a refund that doesn't sound right and u should send someone a refund asap if u r in the wrong
4. Finally, I dont know the seller personally, tho i do know the person i got the info from and i want to push this to more people check him out @hobgoblin145 for more info. I will remove this post if / when this situation is resolved.

I hope everyone is safe out there from scams and this post is only intended to raise awareness
