Last month, for the second year, I welcomed primary school students from Laverton P-12 College for a visit to the @hobsonsbaycc Offices and Chambers as part of their civics class and education I love supporting these kids in their learning and showcasing what Council does as one level of government. Given their insightful questions I feel pretty confident that the future is in good hands!

💚 THANK YOU TO OUR LOCAL AND STATE REPRESENTATIVES 💚 WAMIMS would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the representatives from Hobsons Bay City Council and the Victorian Government who joined us for our 2026 Walk a Mile in My Shoes event in Williamstown. A special thank you to Hobsons Bay City Council Deputy Mayor Cr Lisa Bentley for opening our morning’s formalities with the Acknowledgement of Country and acknowledgement of mental health lived experience, delivering a warm and welcoming speech to our community. 💚 We also sincerely thank Hobsons Bay City Council Mayor Cr Diana Grima and The Honourable Melissa Horne, Victorian Government Minister, for their compassionate words and messages of support for mental health. Your presence and contributions helped reinforce the importance of listening to lived experiences, reducing stigma, and creating a community where everyone feels supported. Thank you also to Cr Michael Disbury for joining us and showing support for this important cause. We are grateful for the support of our local council and state representatives as we continue to raise awareness, champion mental health, and raise much-needed funds for youth mental health initiatives. Together, we can make a difference — one conversation, one step, and one story at a time. 💚👟 #WAMIMS #VictorianStateGovernment #HobsonsBayCityCouncil #MentalHealthAwareness #GoGreenForMentalHealth
