All people in Texas should thrive in resilient communities that support mental health and well-being.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

September is National Suicide Prevention Month, a time to recognize the importance of mental health, connection, and support. 💙

Across Texas, Boys & Girls Clubs are creating safe spaces where young people can build resilience, develop healthy relationships, and access the resources they need to thrive. We are very grateful for the generosity of the @hogg_foundation Hogg Foundation for Mental Health, whose investments help strengthen mental health and wellness initiatives for youth, families, staff, and communities across the state. Additionally, a significant number of Club staff went through @paxgbg PAX Tools training through the Paxis Institute.

Together, we are building brighter futures through connection, prevention, and hope. ✨

If you would like to talk to someone, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, or chat at Texas988.org. A trained crisis specialist will answer and connect you with resources 24/7. 🤍

A new chapter for Helping Seniors Thrive. 💚

We’re honored to receive a two-year grant from the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health through the Texas Capacity Building and Resiliency Initiative.

This support will help us strengthen HST’s capacity while advancing mental health, resilience, and social connection for older adults in the communities we serve.

We’re grateful for this partnership and excited for what we can build together.

Thank you, Hogg Foundation for Mental Health, for investing in stronger communities.

🚀 Excited to share that Mood Elevator VR is officially launching an observation study in collaboration with the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at The University of Texas at Dallas.

Led by Dr. Chandramallika Basak and her lab, this collaboration will explore how immersive experiences of light, color, sound, and virtual reality may influence human experience and behavior.

Participants (ages 18–40) will experience both the Mood Elevator UP ⚡ and DOWN 🌙 programs through VR as the team observes responses and engagement.

This feels like an exciting next step in the evolution of Mood Elevator—from artwork and experience… into research, discovery, and deeper understanding.

Grateful to Dr. Basak and her team for bringing curiosity, rigor, and openness to this collaboration.

We’re excited to see where this journey leads. 🌈🧠🎧✨

You fund mental health. You fund equity. You fund communities.

This is one of those communities.

Muslim Americans are carrying compounding, chronic trauma with almost no mental health infrastructure to meet them. Not because the need is invisible. Because the funding has never followed.

Hate is a social determinant of health. Islamophobia is a social determinant of health. That is peer-reviewed science. And the communities most targeted by hate violence are consistently the least resourced to heal from it.

This is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Awareness without investment is not enough.

Amin. Mansour. Nader.

Their communities deserve more than our grief.

I’m extremely honored to have been invited to present on Grassroots Advocacy alongside @horrayitslily at the @hogg_foundation today. I am grateful for the Hogg Foundation policy fellowship and the support of my mentor, @dougsmithmssw believing in me and gave me a chance to learn and grow.We had the opportunity to share our campaign wins, challenges, and strategies for building with a fantastic group of academy fellows, and I look forward to seeing their contributions to mental health policy.
