I feel so wonderfully lucky to have ended up at @madwomanliterary, and with my agent @madethisforlu, who plans a wonderful writing retreat to @boydsmills every year for its clients. I wrote lots of words, learned so much in sessions, ate incredible food, but more than anything, I connected in person with writers and a community I’ve only known online for almost two years ❤️ My cup is filled and I’m feeling so ready to dive into the second half of Pigeon WIP!

What the heck was 2025? A lot of incredible things happened in my life this past year in between finding some very deep lows. I started the year recently laid off and struggling to figure out what should come next. There was so much uncertainty, but with that came a lot of time for reflection. So much felt out of my hands (because it was). And while there was a lot of gnawing on the bars of my enclosure, I lived. I also learned to make bread and pierogis. 10/10 experiences.

Submission was hell, but fortunately, it didn’t last long. Now my book has a home, and we’re about to ring in 2026. The year of my book birthday.

Thank you to everyone who joined me on this wild ride. Now let’s do 2026.

Ever wonder what happens at a writer’s retreat? 👀

Here’s a recap of the first one I’ve ever been to! My agent, a few agency siblings, and I all ventured to the sea for the best weekend ever.

It was the perfect mix of casual, productive, relaxing, and inspiring. Also, the food at the @hotelsylvianewport and Newport in general kept us good and happy every time!

This weekend, I retreated to the Oregon Coast with my agent and four agent siblings. There’s something magical about being surrounded by friends who share your passion for storytelling. It inspired me to break the seal on some HELLBOUND dev edits that needed to happen. There was a PowerPoint party, group writing sessions, and peak cozy vibes at @hotelsylvianewport . We also ate so much good food.
