AE86 guys are a strange breed. Spindle mounted on the strut, solid axle, can't fit big tires, absurdly expensive parts. But they love the hell out of them.

Well its been road block after road block with the build. This is definitely THE CRUCIBLE of all crucibles a project car can face. Thank you to @japanese_automotive for the updates, guidance, and patience as getting more parts has been a challenge to say the least.

As they peeled the layers of engine away, it slowly turned into a horror story. The amount of sludge was endless and terribly disheartening to see. The wear on the mains, crank, and valve train had made the internals unsalvageable. The previous owner of this engine clearly did not do their due dilligence. Off to the machine shop it went and @gordbushperformance stepped it up and gave it a thorough cleaning. After, machined all mating surfaces to true it all up.

Taken down to bare block, we are going full formula atlantic spec. Only thing left stock-ish will be the block and head castings. With Sensei Kinoshita and Sempai @hirokikino working their magic, a new rotating forged assembly, upgraded valvetrain, and some old school TRD WRC tuning secrets, await this old heart to set the tracks and streets on fire again.

Big shout outs and thank you to: @marcmoskun @yoshimura53 @4ag.ryan @c_95fd3s @go_aki.jpn @yanimator86
@zeroteamautomotive @manonracing @flos.ie @kaizosupplyco @gh0st.frs and @jdm_of_miami for sourcing alot of rare and discontinued parts and the continued contacts throughout the world for said parts.

The old girl still has lots of untapped potential in her, stay tuned.

Thank you @quexautovisuals for reminding me of warmer days and open throttles. Build season is in full effect. You only worry about the competition if they actually do something meaningful. We coming for you 2026

Body prep progress @dasjustin14 working her over from front to back to get her ready for the final phase.

This 40yr old girl is showing her age. Going to be getting rid of the rust spots, problematic areas and stitch weld the body to stiffen it up to prep for the coming power increase.

Some colour changes and additions to follow up. Almost at the home stretch👌 waiting on @s1tunegtr to deliver something special👀

The grind will always give way to growth. A very good friend of mine always said to trust the process, now I step up to the crucible and forge my vision and my dream.

All the boys had my back, lending a hand and showing support. Work and co-workers alike. My wife the ever strong and vigilant rock by my side.

There's no track or race inspired build here. This is the real deal, just balanced. A street fighter, a touge monster, soon to be a complete track weapon.

In my element continuing to hone my craft one nut and bolt at a time. 8 years of ownership and the best part is yet to come. Group A Formula Atlantic. To you my son, the final phase of your tribute begins 2026.

@wabisabi_media you are a genius behind the lense. We got our wish of documenting this process. Thank you brother for capturing it all

Its often said that the force behind car communities is not found in the machines alone, but in people.

From sea to shining sea, there are many individuals who have supported MG.

To anyone who has said a kind word, purchased something, or referred the website, you are appreciated!

This account is dedicated to the best of memories that anyone can follow, if you've explored life in a vehicle—driver or not. ✨️
