OUT AND ABOUT WITH RENÉE DS

📻 Saturday, 3 October | 12h00–15h00
📍 Live on Afrikaap Online Radio

This Saturday, we’re celebrating the people who help shape, inspire and guide the next generation as we mark World Teachers’ Day. 🍎📚❤️

And joining me in the studio from 13h00–14h00 is Melissa van Hal from EduHelp | Holistic Awareness for an important and thought-provoking conversation around:
“Freedom Comes with Fine Print”
Understanding the link between freedom, responsibility, accountability and consequences; and how parents can help teenagers develop the skills to manage their growing independence.

We’ll chat about:
✨ Helping young people make better decisions
✨ Learning responsibility and accountability
✨ Allowing appropriate consequences to become learning opportunities
✨ The changing role of parents | from manager to coach to consultant
✨ The important relationship between parents and teachers

And because it’s World Teachers’ Day weekend, we’ll also be giving a special shout-out to the teachers, educators and mentors who have made a difference in our lives.

Expect great music, positive vibes, weekend inspiration, community stories and plenty of reasons to get Out and About!

💬 Tell us: Who was the teacher who made a difference in YOUR life, and what is the one lesson from them you still carry today?

🧠 Am I maximising the potential of psychometric results?

Assessment findings can provide valuable insights, but meaningful interpretation requires more than scores alone. Context, observations, professional judgement, and collaboration all play an important role in understanding and applying assessment information.

Join Julia Shatalov, Registered Psychometrist, for an engaging discussion on practical approaches to interpreting assessment findings across a range of professional settings.

Together, we will explore:
✔️ Identifying the findings that matter most
✔️ Integrating assessment data with observations
✔️ Translating findings into practical support
✔️ Connecting data to professional practice
✔️ Understanding diverse professional perspectives

Whether you work in healthcare, mental health, education, recruitment, or another helping profession, this session offers an opportunity to reflect on how assessment findings can inform decision-making and support within your professional context.

Assessments provide insight. Clients provide context. How do we bring the two together?
