An appreciation for the unexpected🖤

Sculptural forms, storied antiques, and contemporary art create a collected mix of old and new. A few favorite details from our Belle Meade project.

Collectors are divided on antique wax seals: patina or polish?

This desk seal is over 200 years old and came with 16 interchangeable seal matrices, each hand-engraved with its own motif. When I purchased it from @21stfinds, the case was dark with tarnish. After polishing, the details of the case are visible again.

Collectors are divided. Some believe patina is part of an antique’s history and should never be removed. Others believe a seal is a tool, made to be used. I polished only the case and left all 16 engraved matrices untouched.
Patina or polish? Vote in the comments.

Coming next: a series on my favorite motifs from the set. Follow along for the stories behind each one.

We are delighted to be participating in the Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Serenbe Designer Showhouse alongside a remarkable group of talented designers.

For this year’s Showhouse, we transformed the home’s bonus room into The Library, a space conceived to encourage pause, reflection and discovery.

Filled with art, books, antiques and objets de curiosité, The Library reflects a collected approach to interiors and the stories that give a room its character.

The Serenbe Designer Showhouse is now open through October 25.

October 1–25, 2026
Thursday–Sunday, 10 AM–4 PM

260 Winston Way
Chattahoochee Hills, GA 30268.

Tickets to visit the 2026 Serenbe Designer Showhouse are available through the link in our bio.
