There is nothing quite like October in New Mexico. 🎈✨🎃

Dawn wanderings through the Rio Grande Valley, where the morning chill gives way to the exhilarating spectacle of mass ascension and the sky becomes a living canvas of color.

The rhythmic roar of propane burners, breakfast burritos warming our hands, piping hot coffee, and the collective oohs and aahs of thousands gazing skyward. Then, that magical moment when the first golden rays crest the Sandia Mountains, illuminating a kaleidoscope of balloons drifting across the high desert sky.

It's a symphony of wonder, nostalgia, and pure New Mexico magic.

And perhaps the sweetest treasure of all? Unexpectedly crossing paths with some of our favorite people, reunited after a year of inspiring travels, wandering roads, and stories gathered along the way. Those serendipitous encounters that remind us how beautifully our lives intertwine, no matter how far we roam.

The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is so much more than a spectacle! It's a celebration of place, community, and the extraordinary beauty of gathering beneath the same boundless sky.

There is something essential that happens when we step into the field together, not as guides moving through the familiar, but as seekers willing to see again.

At Bandelier National Monument, we are reminded that this land is not static, it is layered, like an onion, revealing story upon story when we slow down enough to listen. Carved into the volcanic tuff of the Pajarito Plateau are the imprints of over 11,000 years of human presence, Ancestral Pueblo homes, kivas, petroglyphs, echoes of lives lived in deep relationship with place, still connected to the living Pueblo communities along the Rio Grande today.

When we gather here as a team, we are doing more than training, we are refining our lens. We step outside to awaken curiosity, to spark creativity, to remember that even the places we know intimately can reveal themselves in entirely new ways. Together, we sharpen the art of seeing, feeling, and interpreting, so that what we offer our guests is not just information, but a living, breathing encounter.

This is the power of bonding in the field ~ it deepens our connection to one another, to the land, and to the stories we are entrusted to carry forward.

I had an amazing New Year’s Eve celebration that kicked off with homemade matzoh ball soup, delightful charcuterie, and expertly crafted cocktails. The night continued with a fantastic round of Broadway musical karaoke, delicious food, and smoky cocktails. What a fantastic way to ring in 2025! A big shoutout to all the wonderful friends who made this evening so memorable!
