A big congratulations to TBC Dundee client, Holly K., on taking her 500th class! 🙌
.
What’s the best way to end 2022? By hitting a major TBC milestone, and Holly did just that. She’s a busy lady, so the majority of these classes have been virtual - which just goes to show you her dedication to #livebythebarrecode. 🔥
.
We are lucky to have someone so talented, strong, nice and just an all around stellar person as part of this community. Whether online or in person, in the studio or out, Holly continues to raise the barre in everything she sets her mind too. ✨
.
Congrats again on 500 classes, Holly! With your dedication and determination, I’m sure we will be celebrating 1-0-0-0 classes real soon! 💗💛💚

missing my @bemiscenter family
I was such a manic mess during graduate school and wasn’t able to take the time to appreciate the other people in the space so this felt like a second chance, y’all were wonderful, lord what a good crew
I have a little downtime now, so being sentimental and applying to residencies in the hopes of getting to experience something even half as magical
proud of you @imnotstephanie for getting into grad school and @_cathyclu_ for the teaching position!

Under Bridge Show
⬇️ 🌉🖼
(July 22nd 2022)
Thank you to everyone who came to the under bridge show.
It was part 2 person art exhibition, part painting reveal party, part technically-illegal property occupation, part Sheryl Crow pregame event, part spontaneous reason to gather.
Nick Clark and I have occasional, impromptu, winding conversations about the state of the creative culture at large and in our small but incredibly supportive community.
This gathering was the result of one of those convos and reassures me that even in a time/place of perpetual pandemic , there’s a capacity for & interest in art-centered interaction outside of traditional formats.
Stay tuned for future happenings🫠

Next up on the AC Blog:

We sit down with John Cohorst and Holly Kranker, Amplify's 2019 Public Impact Grant recipients, to talk more about their project CAR>GO (Community Activated Resource on the GO), a shipping container they modified to accommodate anything from group meetings to creative studio and/or project space 🚛 .

Originally conceived as a gathering space to exchange ideas, have conversations, and collaborate on neighborhood based initiatives, John and Holly talk about the pandemic's impact on the project, adapting to the unexpected, and welcoming people into the space in 2022 with an open call for collaborators.

Toward the end of the conversation, Holly underscores the generative power of collaboration and working through uncertainty. She says: “We don't have all the answers and we don't know exactly how it's going to work, but we know that collaborating with those who want to engage in this project and dive in with us will create meaningful opportunities. Hopefully, change comes from that.”

Follow the link in our bio and click 'Alternate Currents Blog' to listen to the full interview or read a transcript. If you're on the go, head to Amplify's Anchor page (https://anchor.fm/amplify-arts) to listen on your favorite podcasting service.

The 19'.6" long x 7'.4 wide x 7'.4" high space will be placed on a level surface and is accessible by a ramp. It has three windows with natural lighting and electric, supplied by solar panels.
