I really love the heart behind this picture book. It recognizes that a new home or family can feel scary and unfamiliar while offering a simple reminder that belonging isn’t about having everything look the same. Sometimes, home begins with the people who welcome us, listen to us and show us that we matter.

My goal was to donate 25 books… but WE donated 30!!!🥹📚💖

Last month, I set out with a simple goal: to spread a little joy to children at a local shelter through the gift of books.

I shared a post, and some incredibly kind and talented women answered the call. The beautiful part? I’ve never met these women. We didn’t know each other. They simply saw the post, understood how much joy a book can bring to a child, and decided to help. 🥹💗

Because of their generosity, we didn’t just reach our goal of 25 books…we exceeded it and donated 30!👏🏿

And did I mention that ALL of these amazing donors are children’s book authors?! 📚✨ So much talent and heart in one group…and one of our donors is even a 7-year-old author! How incredible is that?! 🥹

To each of these amazing women: THANK YOU for helping Ms. Zita bring a little extra joy to some very deserving little learners. I am so incredibly appreciative of your kindness and generosity. 💖

And thank you to everyone who liked, shared, reposted, or told someone about the book drive. Every share helped spread the word and ultimately helped this post reach the generous hearts who made this possible. 💕

25 was the goal. 30 was the blessing 📚

🎉 Bundle No. 4 has officially found its home! 🎉

Congratulations to Tiffany in Nebraska, who chose our “Big Feelings, Brave Kids” bundle for her daughters, Eliza (4) and Amelia (7)!

These seven wonderful books will soon be headed their way, and I hope there are lots of cozy read-alouds, giggles, big conversations, and new favorites waiting inside those packages.

A HUGE thank you to the incredible indie authors who donated these books and helped make this Grand Finale Giveaway so special. Every bundle that heads out into the world is a little reminder of just how generous this children’s book community is.

📚 Books can help children feel seen, understood, and a little less alone. 💙

I was so happy to drop off a collection of books at Foster the Village today for children and families in the foster care community.

Each of these books was chosen with a purpose—stories and resources that can help children navigate change, understand foster care, recognize their strengths, dream about their future, and know that their story matters.

I’m grateful for organizations like Foster the Village that create spaces of support and connection for foster and kinship families—and I’m honored to add a few more stories to their shelves. 💙

Because every child deserves to see possibility, belonging, and hope in the pages they turn.
